I'll bite. Nope it was the unforced errors from FC, game was there to be won. Ref was crap for both teams.

He was rubbish but he wasn't the reason we lost.

Poor display by the official, but he was bad for both sides, I think saints played on it more tbf.

I have heard the same boring rhetoric for 40 years about referees....we are the definition of mediocre. The game was there to win. Our backline had zero strike power. Why is Yeaman still holding a centre place for an alleged top "4" club is beyond me.

Please educate the uninitiated. How does a team "play the ref"?
Why don't we just accept that despite the potential we continue to under achieve because of our own failings and strategy.
Average coach, great forward line up, decent half backs, slowest back line in Super leagues history = we continue to make statements like...."they played the ref", " we are naive with the ball", " we are not mean enough", " we lack craft", "we are not expansive with the ball".
It is simple. We have made poor signings and the head coach has zero pedigree which has resulted in the club doing what they have done for 26 out of the last 30 seasons .....achieve mediocrity.

Once Naughton went off, with Lineham and Shaul missing we had very little pace in the backs and didn't look capable of scoring from distance.

They was offside all night & the ref wasn't bothered so they carried on to their advantage, laying on & slowing down the POTB, frustrating the hull attack, it was a case of if your not cheating your not thinking. Saints used it smart to their advantage.
