He was looking pretty trim when I watched the highlights of the Leicester game but yeah I get that if you can't get to where a club wants you within X period of time you're basically out the door.
Just that some players flourish later than others, not saying Pearce would have been anything special but I reckon certain players can fall by the wayside on size alone as it's generally considered to be a pre-requisite. The concept that some players can fight well above their weight and indeed still make an impact does pass SL coaches and fans by at times.

Similarly if there was an issue with his conditioning how was that handled, was he mature enough to keep to a certain regime, anyway it might have done him good to be playing lower league union and realise he needed to sort out his stamina.

Think we played Pearce at centre in the u20 to get him to do 80 minutes but with less impact than at prop?
