I also believe Radford's whisperings convinced Pearson that Gentle had lost the dressing room after he, Radford, played his part in that loss. It was then but a small step to convince Pearson that his trusty advisor - who had, of course, been proven right - was the natural successor. He, Radford, held the hearts and minds of the players.
But that is my speculation only, based purely on my reading of the unfolding events. I am merely looking in, and making deductions accordingly.
But you obviously do know more having direct connection to Radford. So what did go on with relation to Gentle? Why did Pearson become disillusioned with him? What part, if any, did Radford play?
I would be grateful if you would answer as this episode in our history has troubled me greatly.

The question you have to ask yourself is . Is Lee radford one of the top 12 Rugby League coaches in England .Because that is the position he holds . We are a top 12 team [ at the moment ] and is our coach and coaching set up a top 12 set up . 2 questions really but every one gets the drift

I would say your loyalty is more with LR than with the club, admirable though it is, in the opinion of many on here its totally misplaced. And your statement that AP knows more about RL than people on here is just plain silly. By his own admission he's still learning and by the state of the club he's still got an awful lot to learn.

So without sounding disrespectful to you, as you have been a fan for ex amount of years, would we know how to run the day to day running of the club? As we are quick to knock him for trying, & what state is the club in other then not playing how we would like them to, this could change over night ( I'm not saying it will) but we play in a very good albeit big stadium, youth structure is top of the pile with years to come of progression, we are in a decent place to make the 8 in what is the closest league for a long time, my loyalty is with whoever AP employs as I'm a fan of the whole club, & would never want to see us hammered or be in a place for possible relegation just to see someone sacked, & be able to say I've told you so, this to me would be gloating, as I've said before if we are then we have to look elsewhere for coaching/ playing staff, but we are not in that predicament yet are we?

Nowhere in your statement does it say that AP knows anything about Rugby League. At no point have I said that he is not a successful businessman but I do not believe that in the short time he has been with the club he has learned as much about the game as many who sit in the stands each match. I, personally, have been following the club since the late 1940's so, without boasting, I would say I have a much greater knowledge of the game than Adam, and I have no doubt that the majority of the fans could make the same claims. I'm not having a dig at Adam because I believe that he is the best thing that has happened to the club in recent years, but I do believe he has been badly advised and we, as fans, are having to suffer the consequences.

I respect you as a fan for so long, but if the club would have carried on under the McRae/ gentle era we would not have had the youth system as good as it is, & we all know this is the future as it is the top 4 clubs that are reaping the rewards for doing this years ago.

Please don't take this as criticism because it's not meant as that, but as someone who is close to the coach, do you ever doubt Lee? Are you puzzled by some of his team selections, use of interchanges or tactics, or do you think he's getting most things right? If you think he's getting most things right is it the players who are letting him down? If it's not the players letting him down what do you think is the reason for the current level of performance by the first team?
First there was wisdom Then there was knowledge Now there is only information
Neil Hudgell is a so called Rugby man and his side are below us so what does that say?Just because you think Pearson knows nothing about rugby proves nothing. Listening to Rankins interview after the Salford game he said they train well and put things in place then it all goes out the window when they are on it..so whos fault is that. Its clear we are not playing well yet have lost 1 in the last 5 games and for a side who are struggling there has to be some credit given.I have spoken to many players past and present and they all feel playing at home now is really tough and that says it all really

Good post. I go to 90% of games home & away and the atmosphere away is so much better. Hard yards at the KC, and if I were a player trying my hardest (effort not really been questioned this year), getting seven sacks of crap knocked out of me, playing on the needle and so on, and getting little vocal support (at best, booed or having other players names chanted at me at worst) with banners etc, I'd hate the experience and it would dilute my effort compared to being forcefully supported. What once felt like a family now feels like a battleground and I personally think if people genuinely want the players to perform they should consider their own role as supporters as well as bitching non-stop about every aspect of the club. It's reciprocal, right? Looking forward to Warrington.
