Well firstly, for those who criticised, would you prefer that they refused to change their mind on a player in the face of good performances out of sheer bloody-mindedness? Surely it's a good thing that people can be open enough to accept that they were wrong and Naughton's done ok (quite well, in fact)?
And secondly, it should be irrelevant what a player's reputation/standing going into the season was at this stage if you've got match performance evidence. You earn the shirt, you keep the shirt. It's that simple.
