It will have no effect at all. The Academy audit is unlikely to be complete by then so there will be no legal action hanging over Assem Allam's squash tournament.
If I was being cynical it looks like a deal has been done. The Council get the planning permission for the bubble pitch. Academy status is granted on the bubble pitch facilities and the Airco Arena is cleaned up and becomes available for the people of Hull again.
No doubt at some cost to the council tax payers of Hull as we make a financial contribution for the bubble pitch and the costs of removing the 3g pitch.

@jameshoggarth: Hull CC: on the #AircaArena - they're considering their legal position, working on an "amicable" solution through the planning process

What's gone on here then?
Hull City Council push through the planning application for the bubble pitch, help fund the new Academy, help fund the removal of the 3g pitch and smooth things over with the academy audit is my take on it.
We'll see how much it'll cost of the council tax payers of Hull, if anything, in due course.

Sorry, you've lost me. SMC breach terms of lease and the consequence is Council assistance to pay for City's academy facilities (which will yield City increased funding from the FA), put right the damage to the arena and take no legal action? I've got that wrong, help me out.

I don't think you've got that wrong. Can you see Assem Allam paying for the bubble pitch, removing the 3g pitch and repairing the damage?
Unlikely as it may seem I can see the council helping the SMC so they can say they've saved the Airco for the people of Hull. In the meantime Hull City AFC get their academy.

Be interesting what Councillor Webster comes on to say. After all, he was pretty vociferous earlier in this thread. Usual politician gobshittery?
Great win for City tonight as well, pleased for the fans and City.

Nope, can't believe that's true. Are you suggesting the consequences of breach of contract, expensive and deliberate damage to a council asset, eviction of community tenants are: 1) Making good the arena damage 2) Waving through planning consent of a new pitch 3) Funding 1) and 2) above, which then yields one of the subtenants, a private limited entity, hundreds of thousands in incremental FA funding?
Simply can't be right. Where are the consequences of the unreasonable actions? Unless the costs are recharged to the SMC who then pass on in part to FC. In which case the consequences are fairly obvious.
Surely now that the teams who have previousy used the Airco have been 'evicted' they will either have found an alternative venue or folded. Changing the arena back to its previous state will have little or no benefit to them after being months? without a venue.
If the CC pay for anything to do with the arena or for that fact the KC it will be a complete farce and heads should roll.

Well, that's what Obadiah is suggesting, to the point of the council bankrolling a facility to unlock cash for Hull City. I hope Phil visits soon to put Obadiah right.
