I can see your view for sure...but the work lee is doing behind the scenes in organising the club top to bottom is on a different level to his predecessor who was without doubt my error. .

I respect your right to withdraw pass holder funds and personal  support but really believe you will miss a great season and struggle to replicate friday nights supporting your team..

I e-mailed Adam beginning of the season expressing my concerns and due to the poor season and lack of improvement I would not renew my pass as I believed Radford was not the right man for the job.
Above is a direct lift from one of his replies to me.
Wonder if he still believes that to be true.

Should send him that email back and see if he stands by his words

Many more, even myself, will not or consider not renewing passes for next season if he insists on keeping radford in charge

We are completely devoid of any kind of attacking threat and we are going backwards. From where we sit we can here the coaching team and sometimes it is farcical. Last night, Sneyd was getting attention off the pitch for a cut and Radford was shouting into the radio, "get somebody on", "get somebody on", "anybody".

We never seem to build momentum, play the balls are just sooo slow. Jamie Shaul runs into to acting half to make yards and has to stand waiting for the play the ball. Liam Watts makes good yards and offloads, who to, Feka! Good effort by Feka to at least be there but he's not going to go the next 40 yards is he? Danny Houghton comes away from acting half and goes sideways, no runners and so as he is crabbing across he has to run away from the opposition, drops a ball off to a stationary player who runs into the opposition defense who've just moved up and stop him easily.

Michaels ends up with ball after one of our ponderous attempts at putting it through more than two sets of hands and decides he's going to take McGilvary on the outside 2 yards in from touch. Well that's never going work, yet 5 minutes later when McGilvary was crocked for a while and could hardly move, Yeaman just drives it in ignoring the opportunity outside him.

Lineham can't pass from acting half; ok, it's not his job to but when Talanoa insists on driving it in close to the opposition line, Tom comes in picks it up and has to swing the ball right before passing left like a grandfather clock, the opposition are off the line and another tackle is gone.

I know they have to spin it, but the coaching staff are delusional. Sheffield wasn't a "professional performance";our limited success this season comes from individuals. I would suggest the majority of our tries come from individual efforts and mistakes of others rather than tactically breaking down the opposition. Our build up play doesn't create space for players; we rely on smashing the door down, hope the opposition drop a kick or something off the cuff.

Rant over; i'm just getting sick of it all.

That's hit the nail on the head

I still dont think I've fully recovered from last night.

For starters, Radford's team selection was bizarre. Firstly dropping Rankin, and secondly to move half of the team around to accomodate Yeaman.

As usual, our defence was good(ish), we made decent meters and had more than our fair share of field position.

But attack :(
Our kicking game is abysmal.
No desire to make that extra effort.
Concentration. Being ready for an offload or a team mate playing the ball.
Slow and laboured.
We never ever ever EVER draw the defender, commit the man. It's so easy to defend against. This is a direct result of the unopposed sessions.
No dummy runners.
No intelligence.

I've just had a quick look at the SL Stats website. As we know, we're the lowest try scorers. But we also have the lowest trys:try assists ratio. This adds weight to the point a lot of people have made on here about us relying on things like intercepts, or luck.

Last week on here I agreed with those who said Radford needs an attacking coach to come in and help. But it's too late, by the time the new plays start working their way through and attitudes gradually change, it'll be too late for the season.

However, if Radford were to go NOW, there's the slim chance that the players will play above themselves and atleast try and salvage SOMETHING. We see it a lot, new coach comes in, players suddenly kick into gear. I'm not sure how it works psychologically, whether it's to try and impress(?) I dunno, but that's the only option now IMO, otherwise, the season is fkd.

@airlie_bird wrote:It's interesting to see the reaction of people on here. 12 months ago it was a definite split. Those who stated its not the coach who tells players to drop balls and miss tackles, and others who felt that it was the coaches failings. (That's a simplified summary of feelings 12months ago).
I have been in the give Radford a chance as he has the job, but I didn't want him in the first place, camp. I personally felt at no time last season that we had any signs of improving under LR. He changed the philosophy of the team over night, from a team going in the right direction under PG after the debacle of Agar, to absolute dross. He styles us on the Bulls style of play instigated by Noble under which he got success. That was a style of the 1990s. It's not effective anymore. The game has advanced in style and technique from those days.
Knockers Bump was quite outspoken in saying what ability LR had in close season. I argued that he and we couldn't possibly know what courses, experience etc LR had picked up and that we should wait until Easter.
Well Easter came and we were dire vs HKR. We had a patched up bunch team vs Sts who happen to have a patched up bunch of kids and we got a rare win. We then beat a Widnes team who you could argue beat themselves.
Then Sheffield who competed admirably against us and troubled us at times. Yet nobody and I mean nobody was getting carried away. Our attack was still woeful and we simply relied on our defence. Well that only gets you so far in modern day full time rugby league.

I strongly believe Radford led a mutiny against PG. he is the one who has gained most from it. In my opinion he should be charged with fraud. He has totally misrepresented himself and Adam like a fool fell for it. After all if its too good to be true there has to be a catch.
Sadly the catch is that Adam has dug himself a bloody big bunker into which he has no escape. He's backed LR fully for reasons only he can explain. All I can see LR has done in the off season is paint a building and call it The Boulevard which will by all accounts inspire the squad (another fraudulent act).

So Adam if you do read this forum, and in all honesty to gauge some fans reaction he should, then enjoy the ride. Fans are deserting the KC. Not the club as they will be back once things improve. It's an expensive business following a team. So none of this IAKOW stuff. It's all about entertainment and value for money. Times are hard and not getting easier, so the more reasons you give supporters not to go the more they will not go. Pass holders will attend or be counted, but the walk ups will not. Shirt sales will drop and income will drop, but whatever you do don't blame us fans, as its your incompetence and that of the coaching staff that has caused that and not stay away fans.

Start immediately with a new coaching team who can inspire a half decent bunch of players and you might just keep the fans who go week in week out. Failure to act and its Bradford, Leigh, (hopefully) London and Sheffield again in the summer.

Great post - I feel exactly the same way, and have done since I watched Radford appointed in dismay.

Too late already now. Didnt think Pearson would have kept him up to this far. Its obvious he is not going to get rid of him so you can forget that. Just down to preying before the game now lol

The unopposed sessions is such an important point. There is now so much research evidence that shows that practising skills that are not directly related to the actual sport doesn't work. The old view that using a smaller ball in football training sessions or making the defensive line closer in a RL training session is old fashioned tripe. All it does is improve skills related to the strange training technique. The very best way of training is to practice exactly as the sport is played.

Fc just seem so confused in everything they do, they look like they are playing a different sport.

If he keeps Radford in charge for the rest of this season we'll be playing in the Chamionship next season. Pass sales will be the least of our worries.
