Regarding Tomkins (who I personally can't see signing for us) I saw this quote from Koukash that made sense to me:
Quote:But Sam Tomkins is a world-class player, and if a world-class player becomes available, and you have an opportunity, you’d be foolish not to look at it. But for us it’s not an area where we desperately need to recruit.
We'd be daft not to be throwing our hat into the ring if Wigan don't take up the option to resign him. Yes, there are other areas that could do with improving more urgently but it's not often someone of Tomkins quality becomes available. As I said at the top, I can't see it happening but I'd like to think that we at least make an offer to him.

Not sure about Tomkins tbh. We need to prioritise other areas first, but if this marquee exemption is going to come in (and it looks like it is imo) and we can sign him without any cap implications, then we have to at least make an attempt. He will be the best and biggest name player in Superleague. If nothing else it will get bums on seats. We will need a 6 at some point. Pryce will probably retire at the end of this contract, and it's a lot to ask of one of the youngsters to be the main man.
Anyway, I don't suppose it's something we have to worry about. Even if he doesn't go to Wigan, almost everyone will be in for him, and almost everyone is a better prospect than us right now.
Tomkins would stifle HTW and Dean? Tomkins is a world class player, will be easily the best in SL again when we returns. It's a non story because he won't be coming here anyway, but for God's sake if we get a chance to sign a world class player I want them at the club! Am I the only one who doesn't care if they're from Hull or not?! Sure, I like to see players come through the ranks and make it, but I'd rather win silverware!

A lot depends if Tomkins wants to play 6 or stay at fullback. Salford have their halves sorted with Chase and Dobson, so he'd play fullback there and you'd suspect Leeds and Hull would want him at standoff as Leeds have Hardaker and we have Shaul.
It may also depend where he sees his England future, where he will again compete with Hardaker and Chase for a fullback or standoff place.
He'd be a massive signing who'd out bums on seats and he is an XFactor player who does the unexpected...BUT i wouldn't want to sign him at the expense of sorting the other issues with the team, such as we need at least one if not 2 props if Paea goes.

Find it difficult to think SKD would even think about coming here. He'll get NRL offers and Saints are interested. He's only 27. Just don't think it's remotely realistic. Besides, a big experienced NRL centre? Since when have they been on our shopping list?
In his programme notes last night Pearson said he wants to bring in at least one player of "international standard that can bring us a bit of edge and something different, plus some experience".
Sounds like a forward and Pritchard would fit the bill for sure.

So what exactly makes a player "honest"? Lol. Cliched clap trap if ever I heard it. I'll have to keep my eye out for the " Most Honest Player in Super League" award at this years Man of Steel because I cannot remember who won it last year. Was it Houghton?
