I agree, use him to inject some pace and on those rare occasions we have a good lead...bring him on to shore up the defence.

When danny popped on the scene I though whoa calm down everyone. Now its gone to far the other way. His passing has improved a lot over the off season. Seen him ping out a few long sharp bullet passes. I must be the only one though. His main problem is same as the halves. Lack of options. Lack of fast play of the ball. I had a quick look at the stats. I compared him to aiton macillorum & clark. His overall stats where better than all of them (I know stats can't measure a crisp pass etc) If we get some form n start playing on the front foot with some confidence he'll shine more. The over the top danny bashing is a bit ludicrous imo. I've a few rovers fan mates who laugh at it!

Danny has never been a brilliant distributor of the ball and I don't think he ever will be. His big problem is decision making out of dummy half, the best in the league (Roby & Clark) make the right decision 9 times out of 10, Danny is 50/50 at best.

Some merit I think in what earliebird says here. When get on the front foot with fast ptb's and lots of runners/options then our 9,13,6,and 7 all look like good players. All too often we tend to see the rest of the team stand watching as someone scoots off or makes a half break. 2nd half of the derby Houghton broke within 5 yards of the try line, one man to beat in front of him so looked to pop a little pass left or right for a certain try, but nobody backing up as usual! Until we start playing as a team with energy and hunger to back up and promote the ball then all our pivots are going to look ordinary and get berated.
