For you as our media rep (if that's what you are) I would have expected a better choice of words. - "We've always played on good Friday" is ignoring the critical fact that we have normally played Good Friday EVENING not afternoon. - saying "I can't understand the problem" is at worst being dismissive and at best naive.
I'm all for the club trying something different that might boost attendance, but I'm not convinced this has.
Well it's clear that there is no point in buying a season ticket next year if I'm going to loose out on seeing the match because Gary thicks City playing at home will cause a reduced attendance. Neither Batley or the Dulls thought along the same lines.
Is a dream a lie if it don't come true. Or is it something worse?

3pm was therefore the best time.
How do you know that?
You might be right, but just interested in why you think that.
Points to consider on both sides - yes attendance was good , boosted by the kids games and a a fair deputation of past players invited because of the presentation for Terry -neither of which would have probably happened if had been an evening kickoff but then on the other hand alienating the core support like Mickey and KRLFC by doing away with the traditional kick off time ( even more so if its because of the round ball game ) is not a wise move either ..

For a starters there was around 10 fax fans in bar that would not have been there.
I still think we have played afternoon game on this day last couple of years and there was only a moan from 666 then. I feel for the fans that missed the game but lets be honest it was right call.

Good to hear that fax fans turned up,I hope they enjoyed it.
We played it in the afternoon last year and fans complained then too. I can't remember playing in the afternoon the year before but I could be wrong.
As for it being the right call, I assume that if you had the stats you would show them so it's only your "gut feel". My gut feel is you're wrong .
It would be interesting to look at stats for past Friday night games and compare - have the club done this? I'm happy to be proved wrong. I'll try and get hold of a Gillette yearbook and find out.
I have only been wrong once and thats because I thought I was wrong but I was wrong I was right!

Yes, I saw that. No idea what's going on there. If I remember rightly most of their attendances last season were less than 200. To suddenly achieve 1,500 is some achievement. There were a few quite encouraging attendances - not least our own which was far higher than I expected. The new boys at Coventry also pulled in over 700 which isn't bad at all. . I enjoyed the game v York. Although I can't get to every home game I do get to many of them but that was the first time I've seen us win at Cougar Park since we beat Swinton in the league last season. I was beginning to think I was becoming a jinx. Nice to see some real enthusiasm in defence in this game and it did the trick. Not quite firing on all cylinders but very encouraging and it made the evening in the Boltmakers all the more enjoyable

What stats do you need? Some on here were saying we will average around 500 this season but were over 900 already.... 2 Cougars fans missed the game, in life you can't please everyone all the time. You have to do whats best to make the most cash and pay the staff... if we had played at 7.30 infront of 650 who makes up the lost income?

Just out of curiosity, and pushing the illogic of the Friday KO time to one side, why wasn't the fixture organised for either Saturday, Sunday (all the shops are shut), or even Monday? It's not that there are 2 games over the holiday period. Also, back to Friday, Bradford City were playing away but as mentioned in a different post, we have the better sport but seem to be afraid of promoting it.
regards
and ENJOY your sport
