its quite shocking though to think a team playing us only has to have one good half (and leeds did similar) and they win the game comfortably
If you ask me, Rovers were very poor. I think that says it all about us.

On the evidence of last night either there isn't one, the players don't or can't understand it or they're all on different pages. How else do you explain Houghton's grubbed kick to no one that led directly to a Rovers try?
Not saying there hasn't been one, but I can't remember a more inept,boring derby performance. The whole club is a shambles, from the management down. Management - Pearson's now in his 4th season at the helm & appears more clueless each year. - slow learner or what? Coaching - All that needs to be said about about Radford has been said, just wish he'd p!ss off & take his mates & Club Hull dross with him. Recruitment - Appalling! Worryingly Radford has Tony targeting next seasons recruits, & I see we're already rewarding mediocrity. (Talanoa 2yr contract,) probably followed by Yeaman. We pay 100,0000 for Sneyd. Rovers sign Kelly. (Not Knocking Sneyd but i know who I'd rather have) Ourselves & Rovers needed a hooker when the season started, we sign Howarth rovers sign Lunt. Says it all about our `recruitment team' I suppose. I really don't know, how we get out of the hole we're in, but as `we're just one game away from turning around' - it can't be as bad as I see it, can it?

Feeling better now? Only hurting FC fans are saying that. We did not play all that well or as well as we can but we were not very poor. I know how you feel as I have had similar experiences oner the years.
I don't know what the new overseas recruits thought about the atmosphere last night, but after all the hype, I think they may have been massively underwhelmed. The Rovers fans obviously made a racket, but 3/4 of the ground looked like they had been forced in at gunpoint. One half cock version of "old faithful" and very little else. It's not easy when your not playing well, but I don't think Hull fans are helping the team at the moment.

It's a two way street though. The fans need something to get behind
I could write a list as long as my arm on things that we are doing wrong purely from an on field, technical PoV.
- We don't play close enough to the line, all our passing plays happen 5 yards+ away from the defensive line and it makes it easy for the defence to adjust. - No one ever runs in a straight line and commits defenders, the first step is always sideways, it cuts down our space and prevents the defence from having to make any quick decisions. - Support play is poor. - Ptb speed is poor. - There never seems to be a plan to the sets, it's just 5 random plays with seemingly no overall goal. - We never target specific defenders. - Our attacking kicks are largely aimless. - Kicking for touch on penalties is unambitious. - The attacking line is too flat, someone needs to come on the ball from deep and at pace, but because everything is so flat and sideways people are either catching the ball stood still, or catching it whilst running towards the sideline, so our penetration is nil. - Dummy runners never run with any conviction, you've got to convince the defence that you're getting the ball, but ours just jog through often not even looking at the ball. - Passing is slow. - No one runs the team, it's every man for himself, and as a result you get kicks and passing coming in that no one was expecting other than the man who delivered it.
I could go on aswell, and I've not even mentioned attitude or commitment, or any of the more off field stuff like team selection and recruitment.
Pearson obviously isn't knowledgeable about the game or how it's played. He obviously knows that we are playing badly, but because he doesn't know what he's looking at he will just listen to whatever Radford is saying and take it as gospel, and Radford is obviously putting the blame on the players.
The fact is we are a rabble. The players can't be 100% blame free, but the vast majority of our problems stem from the way we are coached. I just really hope Pearson sees it before it's too late.
