absolutely brilliant diary, how you do it wilf I don't know!! your dead right about the "big time charlies" theory I came to that conclusion myself, how we get rid of that I have no idea. I remember back in the late 1970s when we were just starting to emerge from the doldrums, and all of a sudden we were beating teams nobody expected us to beat how good that felt, and of course that lead to the golden era that was the 1980s. as I say don't know what the answer is,maybe us fans are partly responsible with our high expectations. I agree about Friday if I never here sweet caroline again it will be to soon! and also really cant see us scoring enough points against rovers to overcome them.but you never know eh heres hoping.
I don't know where we go from here. On reflection Cas were not much better than us they should as you know have blitzed us in the first 20 mins but THEIR mistakes saved us along with some great defence by us, Leon out wide especially was brilliant. We lost that game after really winning it by stupid mistakes by players who need to reflect on what they are doing on the field. Talanoa I love but if you read this mate put the ball dead and take the 25 drop out cos its better than losing with a daft try

You are spot on with your "big time Charlie" theory we have no god given right to win anything and the quicker we as a team and supporters accept that the better!!
Thanks for this weeks excellent diary Wilf, all points are spot on, it looks like we'll have to give up on "club Hull" concept for the time being and face up to the fact that with the odd exception the players are not good enough - that is the root of our problem.

Great diary this week Wilf. I was thoroughly depressed on the way home, had had a crap week at work and that just topped it off. I was at the Barrow game in 1983 in the 3D, really amazing day, probably only topped for me by the 1982 Elland road replay, JPT final at Headingley and Cardiff 2005. Great memories, wonder if we'll have them again?
