IF overall shirt sales are down it'll be more to do with less people going to games (approx 2.5k less on average than 2010) more than anything. I have a lot to criticise the club for, but merchandise isn't one of them. I'm not a fan of the Magic shirt but the others look great this year and the club shop is always well stocked. Some other clubs don't even manage to get their shirts out in time for Xmas, people need to get some perspective.
Any bad decisions Pearson makes (and yes there have been some) first and foremost hurt himself in a very real manner. So I very much doubt that he's going to deliberately go about losing chunks of his money if he can at all help it. There is no financial wizardry alone that can get him out of this mess, no assets to strip off like some spiv owners in other sports have so the only way he can get back the money is by improving the club and getting fans put their cash into it. That's good because if that isn't a big incentive to improve I don't know what is. Let's hope he is learning from his mistakes. Furthermore as the dobbin supporters always tell us he isn't a real supporter and only in for the cash - that is also good because the emotional part of the club should be with the fans and a cooler head is needed for the sometimes cruel but necessary decisions high level sport needs.
And to repeat to the moaners, who is a realistic alternative? Not that it would make much difference as they would be whinging about them in no time if it ever happened.

He seems to be taking a long time to learn,he had a bad experience with mcrae and co after taking their advice, but who advised him to sack gentle and hire radford,I cant imagine who it could be can you ?
Anybody ever thought that albeit he's wealthy and from a sporting background he knows feck all about league and how to recruit coaches and players? Not a dig but genuine question.

Maybe. But Hudgell knows league, recruited Sandercock and has signed about 20 players who've left Rovers before their deal was up. I'm not saying Pearson's done well, but knowledge of the game doesn't guarantee good judgement.

This statement could become a rod for his own back:
