I haven't seen any marketing from the club for any of the home games this season. Last season we offered the first 3 games for £50. Vickers needs to know moaning about it on social media wont help. As a city fan he should know success brings crowds in. That performance against saints will not help us as well.
Nothing like a feel good factor in the build up to a game!
If what is said is true in that article regarding expenses it's hard to see how we can make it work at the AJ Bell even if we had the crowds. Even if we hit the mark this season at an 8000 average (Which was our aim but pie in the sky atm) the constant bill-rising each year would eventually cripple us. It's not sustainable if it's true. That's a worrying article, and unless MK buys the stadium outright, which I can't see happening, I can see our future elsewhere. Quite where is anyone's guess though.

Would there ever be a possibility that we could leave the AJ Bell and have our own stadium in Salford similar to the Leigh one or (i know its smaller) FC United? I think its the only way the club will ever move forward and bring the Salford public back, but I don't know whether that would ever happen.

We either start playing Sunday at 6.30pm to avoid any football clash, or just face the fact that we could have clashes with football in 6 months of an 8 month season and just make the product we offer good enough to withstand that.
A little late, but someone happened to post a graph with last years attendances on tw@tter, presumably rounded to the nearest 100. I did a quick calculation of the average attendances per day (Last season only):
There's very little between days there, with the exception of Saturday plainly being daft. If you add in that Football will also be on Fridays in the future & Fridays mean lower away gates for some of the more distant teams (Notably the Hull clubs), then I think Friday & Sunday will be more equal in the future.
The more interesting point is that we really can't argue that Thursday nights are bad for us judging on last years stats!!
After reading some pretty negative comments on this page I would like to add some optimism to the debate.
If we get success the fans will come!
Mancunians are used to success with United and now City too, why would they even think about going watching a losing side when they are used to finishing in the top 4 every season.
We haven't played in a major final for all the years I've been alive always and ask yourself this....
If Salford got to Wembley or Old Trafford. How many people do you know that would come to the game that doesn't usually attend Salford matches? The answer will be a lot!
We've got a team capable of winning trophies, let's get behind the team. We have always dreamt of success!
As for the AJ Bell and if the claims are true that the rental will be 40% higher than any other clubs in Super League. I'd be backing the Doc to build our own stadium unless Peel allow him to buy the Stadium.

Really not that many personally. Some floating fans yes but none come to mind that don't go to at least a couple of games a season, absolutely zero. That's just people I know though, obviously this will change per person but I don't expect a sudden massive following if we make it to either.

You'd think there would be some development on one of these fronts by now if this were to happen, it's obviously something that's been known about since he took over. It's a really troubling statement if true IMO.

I
It was just an article I read on how American sports clubs/brands targeted new potential customers. For instance they would advertise first 50 females would receive x type beauty treatment/product from x company at the game. It's good advertising for the company involved. They also offer many other complimentary products or services based on different demographics.
First accept sadness. Realise that without losing 70% of the time, winning wouldn't be such a relief.

We all know Salford isn’t a big RL area and the sad fact is we will not attract any more than the hard core until we start winning games and actually living up to all the hype, if we did become successful whilst not attracting mass amounts in my opinion we could average around 6.5k. The simple reason for the poor attendances are years of poop and false dawns.
2007 –14th on 13 and were relegated. 2009 – 13th 2010 – 12th 2011 – 11th 2012 – 11th 2013 – 14th 2014 – 10th
2015 – we start with a loss and another hammering, things look to be picking up but it’s going to take time.
Sunday rugby doesn’t make a difference in fact I bet we have averaged more on Fridays than we have on Sundays over the years (?). And for me this is why I don’t like Sunday’s because they clash with football.
I do get where he is coming from in the sense that people do make up some ridiculous excuses not to attend the games but at the moment we are giving them reason to make those excuses, if we get the product right on the field and we are still in the same position then it’s time to worry.
I really don’t see the benefits in Vickers taking to social media the slag the Salford public off, he beginning to get on my fu*king tits.
No doubt Mr Vickers will be under some pressure from the Doc but it comes across as desperate, needy and does more harm than good. More energy should be put into creating a better matchday experience and selling it positively. Social media can be a great marketing tool but it has to be used effectively. If you publicly question why people aren't attending it justifies their decision not to go because others aren't going. It's like being invited to a party and someone begging you to attend because hardly anyone's going. You are going to wonder why people aren't going, and think if I go it will be a crap night.
