Last night's debacle in the second half was made worse by the fact we'd dominated them in the first half. However with a bench of Abdull, Rankin, Tugut and Feka (possibly the weakest bench we've ever fielded in SL?) we were always going to struggle over 80 mins as effectively we only played with 3 props, one of which might be classed as a 'luxury' player. Regardless of that some individuals should be personally embarrassed with their second half display particularly some of the one on one defensive efforts that took place.
It wasn't a short turnaround. So they can stop using that as an excuse. Same time as Hudds to Wire.

Are we looking at the latest version of player power? My brother works with a current FC player who wasnt in the side yesterday and when asked what he thought the result would be was told we would get battered. Was that said tongue in cheek or did he know something?

Prior to that we were a club that liked to believe we could win things and probably had a set of players who were capable of winning things. In those six years we've won three challenge cups, a league leaders shield and been to two Grand Finals. Without Smith I doubt we'd have achieved any of the above. Appointing the correct coach is the key. Radford is I suspect our Paul Cullen.
I know that Brian Smith was available to Salford before Noble was appointed but Koucash decided he was too expensive. On a long list to choose from that still remains Koucash's biggest recruitment mistake at Salford.
Perhaps Pearson should be on the phone to Brian Smith.
There was a thread on here preseason that discussed the current abundance of promoted no. 2s in SL head coaching positions when talking about our choice of Radford. You were pointed out as the exception, but I completely agree with you and said at the time that the key thing to point out is that yours was the most similar situation to that which we've now been in for a few years, which was one of underachievement requiring rebuilding. Most of the promoted no. 2s (particularly the successful ones) have inherited strong situations and been asked to continue the work already done, rather than revolutionise a club. You bit the bullet and got an experienced coach with a strong SL track record to do it, we've gambled on following the latest trend without having the groundwork done for him. It was always a massive ask.

Faire enough, but they looked out of it in the first half and we didn't. After a half time sit down (where they each drank a gallon of red bull and we each drank a gallon of Horlicks) the game reversed. An extra two days rest for one team doesn't make the other team play pat a cake in the tackle either.

This in a nutshell... sums up all the problems at Hull FC...
Wigan: Wanted Bellamy, but he said "Maguire's ready, been 6 years his Assistant" , they chose Bellyache's judgement.Wigan board gave Madge him the coaching structure he requested.. they saw massive improvements in the first few months..Wane continued with the same structure. Huddersfield:Nathan Brown same as Wigan.. Laid the foundations.. Anderson continued with the same structure.
St Helens;Same as Huddersfield.
IF Radford left, I can see Last or Horne replacing him...

I felt sorry for Radford during the second half, as I genuinely said that there is not any way he went into the team talk at half time in a blase manner and said "we have it won guys you can relax". Then listening to him post match, it made me mad with the excuses. For a pro team a 5 day turnaround is enough. I could accept losing, but to lose 43-0 in 40 minutes is a complete and utter disgrace. Our much vaunted youth team should be able to step up, if only to a level to avoid such catastrophic capitulation. My mate last night, and a club supporter of many many years with a pass, and also very much in the "stop slagging and get supporting" clan, said that he has just had enough. Completely just sick of the same year after year and if he did not have a pass would simply just watch on FC Live. I cannot say I disagree and am sure many others are feeling the same way. With Allam attempting to destroy us and a general malaise setting in, I am pretty worried. Not trying to give a knee jerk reaction over this leeds defeat, but I fear already we know what to expect this season. And it will be with less fans, less atmosphere and less emotion.
