What's happening is that the overall coaching and leadership at the club is inadequate, which leads to these up-and-down performances over the course of the season.
A good/great coach gets the best out of the players we have. I don't believe that Radford is capable of doing that. I don't believe he has the nous to address our failings, either in terms of coaching the current squad or recruiting the right players going forward. He simply isn't up to the - admittedly huge - job of turning this club around.
All moot anyway. He won't walk and Pearson has said he won't be sacked. I'm beginning to think that my avatar isn't as ironic as I intended it to be.
I'm not saying the coaching varies week to week, or even half to half. How do you know that this isn't the best that this set of players can achieve ? Where's the guarantee that someone else can mould this team into top 6 or top 4 ? If they get someone else in I bloody hope they can but I'm much less certain than you about the likelihood of it. Why would a top class coach suddenly have at their disposal a more talented pool of players to bring in as against the recruitment that Radford has done? Getting top players in is getting harder not easier whoever you are. And as proven tonight by Turgut and Abdull chucking a load of promising youngsters in wont work even if you're a top coach.

That's the first time I've ever left early (4 mins to go, mum was cold & had had enough too!) in 36 years..worst 2nd half performance I think I've ever seen..so frustrated, gutted, stunned and annoyed. I listened to Radford on the radio and he sounded like a petulant child without a clue but the players have to have a look at themselves too. This can't go on, not just in the short term re making the 8 but long term with regard to keeping fans and indeed Pearson himself staying as the owner. Radford can't fix problems that he can't identify and so unless we somehow grind out an unexpected win at Wigan next week it really does look like things are going to go from bad to worse.

IF that is the best this set can reach then Radford and Motu are to blame for poor recruitment. Either way the buck stops with the man in charge.

Nonsense, a decent coach/coaching team is able to mould youngsters and get them to a level where they can compete and not be overawed at the top level and whilst not necessarily going to be amazing displays aren't going to be out of their depth. They manage their youngsters plenty fine it at Leeds, Saints, Wigan etc. You just can't bring yourself to admit that Radford is a failure and isn't up to the job..why is that?

You mean like the "beat Huddersfield" Sunday to "run Warrington close" Friday?
Compared to "chuck it away at Salford" Saturday to "throw in the towel Leeds" Thursday?
Both 5 days unless my calendar is lying. Makes the short turnaround excuse look like what it is. A crock of $h!t.
