Unlike others he was very open in his like of "younger" girls, he even appeared in a documentary in the 1970s where he was showing off his latest "girlfriend" who was staying at a caravan he owned, it was pretty obvious that she was way under 16 years old.

Certain 'rock legends' have been linked with underage girls in the past. Do you reckon they will ever be prosecuted or will they be alright because they are still considered 'cool'?
I bet many popular musicians had moments with minors in those days, possibly not actually targeting kids but never questioning a girls age when inviting her back to their dressing room.

Under age or legal age, its all down to the now adult female and whether or not she feels able to go through the rounds of police interviews, statements, court appearances, and of course the "c" word, compensation, I agree there must be hundreds of once popular musicians who lie awake at night wondering if one of their conquests will make a complaint - having said that there are examples of those who were/are in the music business who's worst nightmare came to life and was then quashed by the CPS or a court through a lack of reliable evidence, those who kept meticulous diaries of their times in the spotlight must be thanking their gods that they did so.

Hope there is an appeal over the leniency of the sentence in the case above
You would expect that Gary Glitter would get a longer sentence but the judge can only give the sentence that was available at the times that the crimes took place.

I was suprised that he got 16 years, I thought it would be less TBH. He deserves it though, pity it wasn't 35 years.
