not owning the kc is a millstone around allams' neck and one he didn't for see with all the surrounding land protected, pity he didn't do his homework, now he is stuck with a football team nobody wants to buy!

the only thing i see is he pockets the cash from the new tv deal and sells the club off for peanuts

I am of the opinion the the ownership of the ownership of the stadium is largely irrelevant. If The SMC and Hull City were run by different parties then it wouldn't even get a mention.

Realistically, what does ownership actually give? Realistically could it be used as security on loans? After all if the loanee defaulted, is the lender really going to repossess a sports stadium and sell it on to recoup their debt? Its not as if its like a residential property for which there is an open market for.

In reality, any loan would be secured on future revenue streams. If you maintain Premier League status, then that appears to be a huge amount. In years gone by it was on future ticket sales. Leeds United found to their detriment that this was a flawed strategy when they slipped down the divisions as the TV money was simply not there in those days.

Key fact in this is that Allam doesn't want to speculate to accumulate, hence the appeal to the Premier League for £20m to put an extra 10k seats in.

The potential purchase price for Hull City would be significantly affected by the liabilities on their Balance sheet which are owed to Allams other business.

The pitch was originally set with a synthetic ingredient so it could withstand all year round sport. Remember it was only intended that first team games be played in it.

well I think the evidence shows its not "nonsense".

The surface is as flat as a pancake. That a certain party chooses to cut the grass to a level which is shorter than is necessary is the issue ;-)

Makes the delay in announcing it understandable, I suppose, it gives Mr Allam more time to clear his desk.

I wonder if the council's approach to the FA about increasing the ground's capacity was on behalf of an interested buyer?
Anyone wanting to take over would have to talk to the council about SMC issues, not just Mr Allam.
Maybe they don't see the SMC as a viable option, and want a better long term solution.
Wishful thinking I know, but these voices in my head always make sense.

Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?

Yep. If he doesn't act on his word he'll have the City Till I Die section baying along with the rest who can see right through him. His pride won't allow that. Yet he can't afford to walk away or sell for peanuts - just yet.

So he'll shift the goalposts again. To suit. To the end of the season. Fly high again or parachute - either will be better than sticking to his honour just yet.

Anyone had the pleasure of seeing Allams Roller?

Look close.

He is disgusting and mocking the rich history of the company, how dare the odious toad have a red badge on a new Roller, and utter insult. (and who would fit the the red??)

I can actually see someone with deeper pockets and a bit of common sense buying the club AND making a decent offer for the stadium/land at a and adding another 10k capacity. Frankly in these times City would be one of the most affordable top flight clubs around (Allam paid £40M I think) and with the ridiculous amounts of money coming in for soccer it'd be a no-brainer IF city can be competetive and just stay up
If the council were offered say £80M for the stadium and the fairground land (excluding the park) they would bite the buyers arm off.
Unbreakable caveats in place; fair is allowed to carry on as usual, discounted prices for community use (not the overinflated nonsense we have now), an egress road of some sort from the car park and of course protection for us in whatever form that may take.

Surely the badge should be blue and white as they're owned by BMW?
