Thoroughly deserved. It's up to the fans to buy the season tickets and up to the players to compete in the super eights or whatever it's called. Can't wait to get started again.

I think the appeals were actually intended to try and keep the club in SL to be fair, though I guess most accepted it would be a 'pointless' attempt. Maybe he did too, but felt he had to make the effort?
Again, whilst I didn't think so at the time - looking back it seems clear that our relegation had been pretty much certain by the time we'd played a couple of games and we'd lost half our pack. Pack gone, points gone, in 'special measures - there's only so much adversity you can throw off before you sink under the weight of it all. Let's not waste the new dawn..

There wasn't much, he could do was there.
I think maybe he made a rod for his own back by making promises - I remember outside the dressing rooms after the Catalans game, he made some [imo] rash promises about staying up. I knew - anyone should have realised - it was something he just couldn't promise because it was outside his control, but I guess it was taken a bit too literally by a few people.
To be honest, I don't even really blame Marc for the promises he couldn't keep, as it merely showed his passion and determination to do his best for the club - and we've all been there, I guess.

The one thing he needed to do was get some more props in and that did not happen. but given the circumstances it was a difficult task. To go into two games against top sides within a few days of each other with so few props was a recipe for disaster which duly came, and morale never recovered.

Would we have got Jimmy though if he had done it earlier? If I recall JL was about 75% of way through season of RU around Easter time with a team strongly challenging for promotion, would he have left at this stage?
