What has happened? Clearly, some are in the know and some are not. Are we talking about the legal action? Or the EGM? Is that now not going to take place? Surely that would be a bit strange after going to all the other clubs and securing the support of several...?
I don't buy RL papers, but I haven't seen any news on t'ininternet.
As I see it the RFL were never going to give way and they said as much in the press. They have delayed every decision and generally made life as hard as possible for us. They have not come out of this looking either supportive or fair in most RL fans eyes.
The only thing we can do is force their hand either by legal action (costly), or by pressure from other clubs at an EGM.
If someone has made the decision that we can't afford legal action, then fair enough, who wants to see the club crippled? That makes us sensible not "pussies".
I'm not sure what's going on beyond rumour, can someone from the club please explain?
I have only been wrong once and thats because I thought I was wrong but I was wrong I was right!
Petty authoritarians aren’t man enough to challenge the actions of a person face to face; instead they incite a forum of rumour, innuendo and half truths, and impose rude sanctions to discourage those who dare question fairness.
It's all in the League Express 15 Dec . (Gary Fawcett interview with Gareth Walker) Legal action dropped - too expensive Calling an extraordinary meeting of clubs. Dropped. Only half the clubs turned up for the AGM last week and GF expects hardly any would turn up for an EGM and other clubs are just self interested and would not vote for Cougars to get compensation.
Back to square one. All stick together and get promotion. That'll show em. (Especially if Batley get relegated next season)

I don't blame Keighley for dropping the case, we can't afford a legal battle and as the article says there unfortunately is not enough support from other clubs. But given this stance not just from the RFL but the majority of the other clubs I will never go to a none Keighley game again. Dishonesty and unfair actions will only negatively impact the game and it is a negativity that will not clear quickly. There's not a chance I will argue positively for Rugby League to my colleagues in the Midlands or my partners family from Rugby Leagues expansion areas. The other rugby is having it's world cup soon and my friends and colleagues will not hear a peep of a Rugby League sales pitch during their competitions.
I look forward to supporting Keighley next season, we must hit Ch1 at our best and then keep getting better to clearly show our intentions of quick promotion back to Championship and then make progress to being a strong contender in the Championship.
