The club will soon have a new location in the town for selling its merchandise. It will be on the premises of A1 Stairlifts Services at 56 South Street. To get things off to a good start two personalities from the game will be in attendance signing copies of their books and talking to supporters. Best known in the amateur game will be Maurice Oldroyd whose recently published biography is called "Building The Family Game A Rugby League Memoir". Maurice was one of the key people involved in the development of amateur rugby league since the foundation of BARLA in 1973. The other is local author Geoff Lee who has now written five novels all inspired by the old saying about work that "They could write a book about this place. It would be a best seller" He will have with him his fifth novel called "Two Seasons" which is set during the 2002 and 2003 seasons with a background of work, family, old friends and rugby league. The event will start around 10.30 on Saturday December 13th and everybody is welcome to call in and maybe do a bit of Christmas shopping!
Visit //www.geofflee.net for details of my novels 'One Winter', 'One Spring', 'One Summer' 'One Autumn' 'Two Seasons'. and "Three Good Years" All six feature Rugby League against a humourous Lancashire/Yorkshire background and are inspired by the old saying about work: "They could write a book about this place. It would be a best seller."
