I do think Whelan's ace is that he's named a stand at the DW "Boston Stand", also previously at CP, not that anyone at the FA would know who Billy is. That is where he, or his solicitor, could have them on toast!
If the FA do end up deeming Whelan "Not a fit and proper person" to own a club then DW might just throw his toys out the pram, resign as chairman and liquidate Wigan Athletic!

I don't think old rent-a-gob is a racist at all, he's just stuck in the past. It's amusing watching him squirm for once though

Warrington led 16-2 in Saturday's Grand Final, but their joy was short-lived as Wigan roared back to win the Super League title and extend the Wire's 58-year wait to be champions

Doesn't he spend a large portion of the year at his palace in Jamaica, or some where close by? Ex-pat millionaire enclaves aren't often either the most progressive or open minded to changes in social mores.
Just a dinosaur who's stuck in the 60s & 70s. The FA might well fine him though & then it'll be interesting if he carries out the threat to walk away.

I fully expect him to do an interview with a Chinese publication now where he states:
Guys, anyone got experience of how busy the M6 is likely to be on Good Friday? In the past I've found normal Friday evening games a bit of a nightmare to get to, I missed the start of one game last year (might have been Leeds) cos of being stuck stationary on the motorway. I'm 200 miles South, and if Good Friday afternoons are as bad as normal Friday evenings, I'll need to allow around six and a half hours!
For peace of mind, then, I might then be better to consider alternative transport: motorbike if fine, or train if not.
So if any other fans have experience of heading North to Wigan on Good Fridays, I'd like to hear about it. Thanks.
