We'd love to come but the tally so far is one friendly Feath fan, one nutter...

I know we'll be good and it's daft to pretend otherwise, but I genuinely expect to have the odd slip up against one or more of those sides.

TBF I am actually very heartened indeed at the lack of any significant numpties or trolls to date. I know numbers will likely increase once the action starts, but still. Most seem like the decent sort that fankly with Rl you would expect.
I waved the paddle of rebuke at gingdong not only as a mild warning that he shouldn't expect a free pass on here, but also because he might calm down and reflect, and become a more sensible poster. I still have some faith in human nature. Whilst I accept that if he's as old and embittered as he seems it may be a lost cause, still I'm happy to give him a chance.

Never forget the 17th chapter of the book of Jobe, which states,"Blessèd is he who doth not expect, for he shall not be disappointed".

You will lose some of these games, the semi pro teams will see you very much as the team to raise their game for.
Really looking forward to our first encounter, third game in. You could well still be finding your feet in this league and we will be well up for it. Hope to see you all filling our new stands.
For what it's worth, I agree with you about cakewalks but I suspect a few are going to underestimate the advantage of full-time training. Not that it matters one jot how much any fans under, or over, estimate anything, since I can't really see any players doing so.
I've said earlier I very much hope other teams do see us as 'the team to beat' as this should lead to higher intensity games in the early part of the season, which would be a great boost for the middle eights, where this intensity is going to be needed.

Getting very bored of this straw man now. WHICH FANS are these "some", then? And if you do ever come across a fan anticipating ambulating confectionery, then why not just reply, then and there, to that fan?

Ah - but we're not allowed to say that, though, as it would be "arrogant" etc etc. Are you allowed to state the obvious?

Yep, amen to all that!

Well I'm not arrogant enough to assume we'll walk the league and I'm really looking forward to the challenge.
You never know how you'll perform against teams you know nothing about.
I mean I think we played this Halifax in a cup match a couple of years ago (I thought they were a non league football team before that lol) but we've never played any of the others.
All these new teams and places to visit. It'll be good to get out of yorkshire to new clubs like Leigh and Featherstone.
