We've known this for weeks! I for one would be happy if he was signed for one season with the option of another. Still got the skills to send a winger away and put in really big hits. Can play in the 2nd row too. Hull AND Rovers fans bang on and on about youth, but neither club has any threequarters that could perform to the same level. I'm pretty sure that Michaels has signed to play centre, but if we started Sa and Tahu at centre, we'd have no defensive frailties out wide - no-one would want to run at them!
Regarding Youth, I was speaking to an ex Hull player the other week about how many of our "legends" are from outside the City. So many of Hull's are from the West Riding and Cumbria, same with Rovers. Why in such a stronghold do we rarely convert potential into genuine class? It's puzzled me for years.

Tbf, even the small-ish world of RL heartlands in this country, not-Hull is a lot bigger than Hull. West Yorkshire's population is more than 2 million.

West yorkshire always seems to have been a breeding ground for top players as you say why I dont know, arguably our greatest ever player roger millward was at the time behind alan hardisty and keith hepworth in the cas pecking order when we signed him. What both our teams would give for players of their quality now.
