I've got Destiny on the Xbox One enjoying it so far. Quite difficult as well, although I've generally been doing the missions on my own rather than in a team. Game tag is adamjk0286 if anyone fancies teaming up.

The 3 games I got; The Last of Us Remastered - 29 minute update Destiny - 50 mins Killzone Shadow Fall - 4 hours !!!
Crazy. I can't remember ever having an update on my 360 that took more than 5 minutes.
I'm not sure how your Destiny update took 50 minutes, the patch was less than 300mb in size - it took me around 10 mins to d/l it. Unless you're talking about installations or downloads of full digital titles, the time taken for patches to download are all relative to your internet speeds, not Sony.
I'm hearing a lot of grumblings about Destiny, going to wait for it to drop significantly in price, by that time they may have even expanded on an 8 hour story with some free (haha, free) extra content.

It helps if you know other people who play the game. You can play the entire game in co-op and it is infinitely more enjoyable this way. The story is poor, but certainly longer than 8 hours, and there is a ton of stuff to do once the basic story is over. I love this game, I am obsessed with it right now.
The hunt for new and better gear, the chance to find a rare weapon, the daily updates to bounty hunts and missions. Honestly, I would argue that once you get the story out of the way and reach a certain level with your character, the game just blossoms into something on a completely different level.
I must be close to about 30 hours now spent playing this, and I'm still on my first character. There are two other classes I haven't even touched yet. I've barely scratched the surface of the competitive multiplayer, I still have a long way to go before my character is maxed out, and I haven't even touched the special 'raid' event they released last week that is supposed to be a serious challenge.
The game received another nice new (free) update again yesterday and there are a few more planned in the next few weeks.
To say it's only an 8 hour game is doing it a huge dis-service. I can't get enough of it right now.

I got an xbox one a few weeks ago and I'm loving it. I guess it depends on what games you prefer but so far I've no regrets, Although the ps4 is more powerful I'm not sure whether it makes a great deal of difference to the untrained eye although the main attraction for me to get the Xbox one was Halo.
