The player they should be trying to buy from Madrid is the young French lad at centre back (forgot his name) or Godin at Athletico.
The squad looks so lopsided in quality
Doesn't it just.
De Gea is already really solid, Van Persie, Rooney and Mata are all of unquestionable quality, Di Maria will only add to that. He had a superb year last season, when most expected him to be dropped because of Bale's arrival.
In between the two ends of the pitch? Ridiculously low on quality. It doesn't matter whether Van Gaal plays 2 or 3 centre backs, they've got no quality in the middle of the defense or midfield. Fullback/wing backs are also problem positions he has nothing in bar Luke Shaw who is very young.
I just don't get the Di Maria signing tactically. He was meant to be playing this 3-5-2 formation he used for Holland. But in that system you need wing backs like Baines/Coleman not out and out wingers like Di Maria who won't defend.
Priority for United has to be centre back and centre midfield? Yet he seems happy with Blackett, Jones and Smallling and is even talking about giving Smalling a big pay rise
