Phoenix Thirsty Moon 4.6% in the Tut hasn't been too bad at all. A bitter with an extra dry edge to it.

Sadlers Red IPA 5.7% very enjoyable in the Reginald Mitchell (Wetherspoons), Hanley, Stoke after Boltons friendly at Port Vale on Wednesday evening.

Yorkshire Day drinks yesterday;

Wharfe Bank Yorkshire IPA Amber Ale 5.1% (Gatehouse)
Elland Reet Grand Yorkshire Ale 4.5% (Angel)
Acorn Barnsley Bitter (Yorkshire Grey)

Another success from Dukeries in the shape of Bolt Out Of The Blue 5.0% sampled in the Gatehouse yesterday.

Also Grafton Marmalady 4.8 tasted in the Angel ... as you might imagine, orange is the key to this brew, both in looks and taste.

Enjoyed a couple of very nice Acorn brews this week;

Kashmir 4.7% (Angel) and Sovereign 4.4% (Gatehouse)

Imperial Yorkshire Rhubarb Stout 5.0% in Cask Corner on Friday evening ... nice but was more coffee than rhubarb. Also sampled Stancill's Barnsley Bitter.

Bolton (Saturday evening) ...

Alma ... Jennings Cumberland Ale
Spinning Mule ... Three B's Pinch Noggin 4.6% ... gorgeous!
Old Three Crowns ... a house ale brewed by Theakstons 3.7%
Elephant & Castle ... Bank Top Barley To Beer 3.6%
Man & Scythe ... Bank Top Flat Cap 4.0%
Barristers ... Hyde's Friendship 4.5% & Bank Top Port O Call 5.0%

The 3 Bolton brews and the Hyde's ale were all very nice but the Three B's was the best of an enjoyable evening.

Moorhouse's Pride of Pendle on top form in the Cemetery, Rochdale yesterday.

Highlights from the BH weekend ...

Leeds Midnight Bell (Gatehouse, Doncaster) ... always a favourite.
Saltaire Pride (Gatehouse, Doncaster) ... very enjoyable.
Stancill India Ruby Ale 4.0% (Angel, Doncaster) ... another winner from the South Yorks brewery.
Twisted Oak Old Barn 4.5% (Fat Cat, Sheffield) ... best of the weekend.
Acorn Barnsley Bitter (Kelham Island Tavern, Sheffield) ... another which never disappoints.
Sadlers One Stop Hop 4.3% (Tut n Shive, Doncaster) ... pushed the Old Barn very close.
