Still think you'd benefit from a decent fitness coach, though. You'd get at least 20% more out of some players if they weren't so out of shape.
To say I am gutted after the ending to today's match is an understatement. The Jersey detective from Batley is right in his post in that we have improved since last season - yet we find ourselves in 9th place. If we didn't conspire to throw away so many points in the dying seconds we might be a few places higher; the following frustrating examples spring instantly to mind:
.
Doncaster away - threw away a bonus point
'
Leigh at home - should have had 3 instead of 1.
.
Halifax at home - should probably have beaten them but should have had a bonus point at the very least.
.
Whitehaven away - lost it in the last few minutes
.
Batley at home today - you know what happened!
.
That's about 8 extra points we could have had - maybe should have had. Some work on defence is clearly required. In his Radio Leeds interview, John Kear said the Dogs had got into our 20 metre zone only four times in the second half and they scored off two of them. It was the same with Fax; they didn't get into our half much at all in the second half but still got over the line when they did manage to get up the field - at the cost of at least a bonus point.
.
Jim Bergerac also picks up on our players' fitness. I have to say I thought the Bulldogs did look leaner and fitter than a lot of our lads.

Elation to despair in a matter of seconds. The world of a supporter of the Keighley Cougars.
