Zombies equal the living dead. So therefore they should not be able to be reanimated with powers above and beyond what they had in their previous lives. ( the only exception is they can only be killed a second time by destroying the brain or brain stem).
If they die, become Zombies and then all return and have super human strength, speed and climbing ability they have been re animated as not the living dead but Living dead super heroes.
If the book had been caled WWZ super heroes i would have accepted it ( reluctantly)
Not strictly true - vampires are also the living dead, but I have no issue with them being fast; the horror of the zombie is their mindless, inexorable and (seemingly) unstoppable nature - fast zombies just don't have the same impact.
Maybe it's just an issue of branding - I'm not sure if zombies are protected under some kind of Undead Trades Descriptions Act but if they were, this film would have been in violation of said Act.

Dont agree on the vampires bit as to be a vampire you dont die. you are bitten but not to the point of being dead. They therefore are re incarnated as a different beings to what they were a bit like a werewolf.
To be a zombie you have to be dead to be reanimated

Running is not a super power.
Practically every action movie ever made has "normal" people performing ridiculous feats of speed, strength, stamina and instant recovery that are beyond real human beings. But we accept them because true realism kind of gets in the way of stupid action films.
In the trailer for World War Z a cop gets run over by a refuse truck that appears from nowhere. The scenes before that established that the city was full of vehicles that weren't moving. So how does a 20 tonne truck manage to appear from nowhere through jam packed streets without making a lot of noise and alerting the cop? It doesn't. But it's a stupid action movie so no one really cares.
George Romero might insist that zombies should be slow. **** him. He doesn't own zombies. Zombies are fictional characters that will never exist.

Zombies have been around in literature since the 7th century,
They have been part of haitian culture since the 16 th century
THe first Zombie film was in 1932
8 years before George Romero was born
None of these had fast Zombies either

You mean Zombies are NOT real , Vampires MUST be because they made Dracula on the Moon .
