Thought Dredd was streets ahead of the Stallone version, which was pants.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug
Slightly torn on this. Great film, wonderfully shot, great CGI (and I normally hate CGI), some great performances and overall a fantastic effort. BUT - it deviates from the book probably too much for true Hobbit aficionados, although while it didn't spoil it for me I was keenly aware of the plot changes to the point I wasn't always truly absorbed in the film. Also, some key (and fondly though of) characters are given only 5-10 minutes, which is the only issue that actually did grate with me. Finally - and I never thought I'd say this - it could do with being longer. Some key parts (and characters as mentioned) are skipped over and I feel the story suffers as a result - especially if you know the story.
All that said and despite those niggles, a great film, came away from it having enjoyed every minute and looking forward to the finale.
Anchorman 2 - 7/10. A good & funny film, and good follow up to the 1st film slightly spoiled by the OTT ending. Will Ferrell overshadowed by Steve Carrell by a long way in this one!
Found it quite slow and long. I really started to dislike these films were they leave the end of of the story up to the viewer to make up in their head.

The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.
The film gets a lower rating because it gets ridiculously stupid. But as the film is based on a true story I guess it's not the films fault. Along with Compliance, which is based on a rape caused by a crank call to McD's, it highlights just how utterly stupid people can be.
On thing that did annoy me about the film though was the way that online chats both participants spoke along with the lines as they were chatting. No one surely does that, and it would have worked far more for the film if we were listening to the characters internal dialogue rather than seeing them speaking every line they type.

Insidious: Chapter 2. Knew what to expect after the final 20 minutes of Insidious and wasn't disappointed. A great job of slotting the plots together but some of the acting is shocking and after a while the entire film seems to consist solely of predictable 'what was that?' attempts to make the audience jump, with very little in the way of building genuine suspense or fear and no unexpected shocks.
I just watched Star Trek 2009 and 2013, although i've seen 2009 before, I rewatched it to just remind myself of the new cast and plots.
I really enjoyed these new incarnations, i'm definately not a trek fan, but I think these have a new and exciting feel.
The 2009 film is very well directed and the filming style I really like, the whole feel was very good, the same for the 2013 film, although the plot line is a bit thinner and generally doesn't hold together as well as 2009.
The biggest thing about the 2013 film is the gulf in acting between Chris Pine and Benedict Cumberbach, Cumberbach is awesome and plays the role brilliantly, where Pine, although he is trying to pull of Kirks slapdash side just isn't up to the same level. I feel it is also let down by the poor acting of Trevor Eve's daughter Alice, I just don't think she is up to this level.
Insidious 5 - Standard, lame haunted house nonsense. Liked the woman in it, so there was that redeeming feature, but that was about it. I've already bought Chapter 2 so I've committed to watching it but if I hadn't already got it I wouldn't be watching it.
