Interesting. So if I went far enough, I'd get to the edge of the Universe, and beyond that, but not in the universe, would be a great expanse of "nothing"?

I read something in The Sun earlier about a piece of research from Japan which suggests we, and the world we live in, are just holograms projected from an alternate universe. I would like that on explained to me in Layman's terms.
