I don't listen to this kind of guitar rock so much these days, but find I have listened to the album quite a bit in recent weeks. To be honest I found the Yeah Yeah Yeahs album a much bigger disappointment - their first bad record IMO.
Quite a few albums out now from 2013 that I like a lot - James Blake, Deerhunter, Vampire Weekend, The National, Boards of Canada, Sally Shapiro. Have just got hold of the latest Kurt Vile, Camera Obscura and Low but not had chance to listen yet.
I quite liked Angles (some of it anyway) but this I find nothing short of garbage. I don't mind YYYs album, tbh I could take them or leave them in general. Agree on VampireWeekend, looking forward to seeing them in a couple of weeks.

A weird thing about it on Twitter though, on 11th Feb the lead singer said "Tried releasing a single back in '09. Michael Jackson died. Try announcing a single in 2013. Bloody Pope resigns.", he got a reply on the same day from somebody saying "@MattAbbottSkint I'll have a pound on Maggie Thatcher dying on your album release day ". I think we need to be suspicious about Thatcher's death now!
If old school rockabilly, with strong hints of Johnny Cash and early Elvis about it, you'd do well to pick up the new album from Mars Attacks. I've had it on constant replay for the last couple of days.

Sorry, but his pronunciation of the word 'now' in the chorus to 'Love Me Again' is enough to make me want to smash his face with a bat. I, need to know naaarrrgghhh. F*** OFF
Top 3 of the year so far: Vampire Weekend - Modern Vampires of the City (Seeing them again at Leeds Arena in November) Disclosure - Settle Toro Y Moi - Anything in Return
Very underwhelmed by Daft Punk's Random Access Memories after all the hype. Can only name the Get Lucky single as a standout and that's because it's been played a million times on the radio. First album great, second album very good but after that they went completely off the boil with Human After All. Random Access Memories hasn't done anything to change that.
