My original copy of Bioshock broke (the infamous portrait standing Xbox that fell whilst playing) and I neve got round to getting a new one. Borrowed it off a mate again the other day and just getting back into it.
Anyone else think its a little bit overrated?
The new one has rave reviews too, mind.

And not just because it reminds me of a telescreen, the amount of error is going to be ridiculously annoying, let's say you're sat with your mates and chatting whilst playing Fifa, something done by many. All of a sudden the xbox picks up a phrase and turns off, goes home, buys a film, renews your subscription for 20 years. It sounds ridiculously far fetched but even on the relatively simple and nice 360 microsoft are at your wallet as often as they can, and oh you purchased some microsoft points? We'll just turn automatic renewal back on while we're here.

Also, I know for a fact if this had come out ten or so years ago, me and my brother would constantly be walking into eachothers' rooms and saying "xbox turn off".

Xbox have a potential PR and marketing disaster on their hands if they don't rectify things sharpish

Never thought of that, but you're right, it's bound to be abused in such a way. Shouldn't really blame Microsoft for that, though.

Looks like you might need a new PC too

Bioshock is 6 years old now, that's probably why. Released at the same time as games like Earth Defense Force and Call of Juarez. Comparing it to games released recently is bound to make it feel a bit dated.

I must admit I hate Bioshock, the vibe of it completely creeps me out, particularly the rabbit-themed characters. But I was very impressed by the quality of it, particularly as you get further into it and get access to some of the more advanced powers.

How good does Forza 5 look? Cannot wait for that. The cloud-powered opposition is a very interesting idea. The trailer seems to claim there is now no AI programming in the game, which was always the big failing of driving games. The opposition is now based on how real players, matched to your ability, drive. How they overtake, which corners they cut, where they play dirty and try to cheat etc.

If it's as good in practice as it sounds, it could revolutionise how single player games work. FIFA is the one big one here for me, single player is unplayable after a month or two as it's so predictable and unrealistic once you've learned the AI moves. Single player based on how other players play the game (Obviously linked to style of the teams, so Stoke wouldn't be playing like Barca) would make it far less predictable.

I must admit it is all a bit weird, I'll probably never pick it back up once I'm done with it.

I'd hope there'll be a setting so those sort of commands are 'headset only' but I think Microsoft have a lot more to worry about right now

No different to them walking in and turning the console or electricity off. I used to do that all the time when I couldn't get on the computer as a kid. Flick the sockets and lights off and on in the fuse box then casually walk in and ask if my brother was finished. You can turn the feature off on 360, so it'll no doubt be an option still.
