Microsoft will have to come up with something very very special to make me consider buying it over a PS4. I much prefer a 360 to the PS3 but it seems to me Sony have learn't from their previous mistakes, and the PS4 looks like a very impressive machine. We already know the Xbox won't be as powerful or have the exclusives the PS4 will have and the online of the PS4 seems so much more impressive than the current PS3. I fail to see how the Xbox could out gun the PS4. Even the controller of PS4 looks miles better than the current version.

Left it a bit late but I found a cheap ps3 on ebay and thought I'd give it a try after being on nothing but an xbox for the last few years.
Really liking the fact that I don't have to pay for using online services, Not signed upto psn yet but the browser is decent and all the rest of it.
Bought GT5 earlier although not had chance to play it as it's spent the last hour downloading what seems to be a ridiculous amount of updates. Just signed upto Lovefilm so I can rent games rather than pouring out money buying the,. Any recommendations on any ps3 exclusives I should try?

You get what you pay for, Live is infinitely better than PSN. If you don't actually use it, it's probably better for you.

The Uncharted series is the only really essential exclusive.

So you prefer the 360 to the PS3, but you can't see how the next Xbox can beat the PS4? All they showed off was the share button and the social aspect, which although a lot better than PSN now, is not that much of a quantum leap beyond what Live is now. Why won't the next Xbox have the exclusives? Sony revealed very few of those either. Which ones grabbed your attention?
The Sony reveal was pretty rubbish. Not that what they showed was bad, they just didn't show much at all. They did it to get in ahead of the next Xbox, but clearly held most stuff back so that they didn't give anything meaningful away whilst Microsoft still had time to change things.

GT will be worth all the updates
Other exclusives would be:
Uncharted series (3 games) Metal Gear Solid 4 (plus the HD collection if you haven't played earlier titles) God of War 3 (plus the HD collection if you haven't played earlier titles) Little Big Planet 1 & 2 Heavy Rain Ico/Shadow of the Colossus (if you didn't play them on PS2) Killzone 2 & 3 Demon's Souls (predecessor to Dark Souls)
There are also some great PSN only titles such as Journey, The Unfinished Swan, Flower, and all of the Pixeljunk series of games. Journey is certainly worth getting, absolutely amazing game that has won an absolute shedload of awards, and rightly so.
