Anyway, Irlam 20-12 Blackbrook. Messy game, neither side at their best. As usual Irlam the bigger side, but played a bit too much one-up rugby against Blackbrook's smaller team who showed good hands and good lines to go round Irlam's unsteady defence several times. When Irlam moved the ball they made plenty of holes but struggled to retain the ball. Everyone seemed a little rusty after the Xmas break!
Lots of dropped ball and turnovers, very scrappy but a win's a win and always good to watch a game of RL.
How did Golborne go hare&hounds? Blooded your bouncers yet?

No we havent Blooded the bouncers in yet as we dont want them to get life bans as yet
I hear Irlam lost to Blackbrook what a pity, would have loved to have seen a few of them meet Andrew and Eric better known to us as A and E .I guess with the heavy conditions Irlam must have had to carry their bellys in a Wheelbarrow so there most effective tools Knees and Elbows were not much use.

Oh dear. "A & E"?
Anyway, they've not mentioned them. The only feedback I've heard was that Irlam were crap and Blackbrook were better.
Well I always thought Irlam were crap,Blackbrook they seem to have a different team wonder that's why they have been struggling to fulfil their Ncl fixtures.

hasn't Neil Girvin beat given a 12 month contract by the RFL to run either the NWCM or NWC league?

So on this point was the NWC being poorly managed before the leap to the RFL and summer?

Yeah seen that. Based at the Eccleston Arms pub and playing at Liverpool St Helens. Not much being said about it. I would guess there will be a few committed teams, Dalton, Golbourne & Irlam being 3. The rest mainly being summer clubs hoping for a few games to keep the clubhouse tills ticking over
