Personally, I think its one of the most awe-inspiring pieces of music of all time, but, played live and coupled with the lightshow, its truly incredible.
Yeah it was pretty epic (the whole night was). The build up to and the crescendo in the last 5 minutes of that song are intense. The new songs sound like they have a heavy feel, looking forward to their new album.
Tempted to go and see them at Jodrell Bank at the end of August now.

Last night I was at one of the best little gigs i've ever been to. I'm not a fan of big venues anyway, and arenas have no soul, but this was on the small side to put it mildly...
Hull New Adelphi holds maybe 150 jammed out, and it was... The Talks latest EP launch was a brilliant night. It started with Leigh's Jeramiah Ferrari getting the place bouncing with a reggae-fied 35 minutes of bouncing heaven, followed by Hulls own ska/punk Counting Coins who ripped the place up. The headliners nailed it though. I'm lucky enough to have seen The Specials when they were young and hungry, and i never thought I'd see a band as lively as they were in their youth, but The Talks certainly equalled it.
A brilliant night, and I'm looking forward to them playing Doncaster shortly, that's one for the diary.
God is nothing more than an imaginary friend for grown ups.

My Bloody Valentine tomorrow night at the apollo. Looking forward to having ringing in my ears for days after this gig. Only gig in the past I can remember when they had people handing out ear plugs

Recently went to Manchester Academy 2 to see Don Broco. Sell out crowd, not only were they fantastic, but the 2nd support, Mallory Knox, confirmed themselves as one of the bands to watch in 2013! Pitch perfect and energetic.
Also spent lots of time at the merch stand downstairs, which is what people love. Looking forward to seeing them in London on 22nd supporting Finch!
My next two gigs I'm running are a clubnight, launching in Warrington on 29th March.. then a gig in the bus station on 20th April!

I am still recovering from MBV last night. I imagine watching them is like going into a boxing ring for a fight. Ears somehow are not ringing today yet they feel a little sore (I did use the ear plugs handed out for about half the gig, call me a wimp if you like but after seeing them before and having ringing in my ears for over a day I thought it was wise) The gig itself was good and they mainly played off Loveless. Thought the new songs would play a bigger part to be honest but not a big major problem. The new songs did fit in really well and wouldn’t have thought there was a 20 year gap. I have seen them twice now since they have reformed and I don’t know if I would see them again. I think people should go and see them even if they are not massive fans of the band because they really are unique and I haven’t experienced anything like it from another band but at times the songs get lost in the huge sound they have but I know that is part of it. Bring on BRMC in a couple of weeks

Tempted to go see Lordi in Wakey. Also Joe Bonamassa is doing an Arena tour but not sure I'll go as I don't see him as an Arena act. It's a big stage and his only gimmick usually is the theremin. Got tickets for Rush,Fish,Grainne Duffy, Journey/Thunder,Elvis Costello and Neil Young. Oh and Micky Flanagan and Ken Dodd. Rock 'n' Roll!
