I have to say I agree with Rach and Diehard. This is great work from Len.

As a former trained analyst for a large financial institution in my earlier years I would have no issue with that piece of work. Whether it be sport, retail or financial you want to compare year on year performance. You are always going to have variables and in this case it's the players/staff and the coach/management. This should not prevent a comparison and may in essence explain the performance issue. In Len's case he's compared this season against last and shown under-performance, albeit, not as dire as some would make out. There will be any number of reasons for this, be it players, coaching or maybe other factors.

Looking at it simply and I think Diehard eluded to it, we are not clinical enough with ball in hand and fail to punish teams' mistakes. Defensively we are conceding some soft tries. Thursday was a shining example. We conceded early and then had a period of pressure but failed to capitalise on Featherstone's errors. They then rode the little storm and punished us.

All in all, I for one didn't expect us to beat Fax, Feav or Leigh, but hoped we would show progression from last season. I expected us to beat Swinton and Haven so I am disappointed.

Do I think the Board will make changes, no. I'm not sure they can afford to.

Would a defeat against York make PM's position untenable, maybe not, but the game on Sunday is massive.

As I mentioned in an earlier post , I suspect the balance sheet could be quite healthy
with only paying lose match fees to the players thus far ....So ,maybe they could afford
to make some changes.....

It's my ethic that it's only when you are at the bottom you know how really good a club you are. This club belongs to US so get involved. Such things as getting a team together and spruce things up around the ground, contribute to the programme, buy a half-time draw ticket. For the price of a pint every week join Squadbuilder and then we can fund more players. I don't think it has been recognised what an incredible job Margaret Procter has done with the Squadbuilder. It is the small things that can really do great things indeed.

Its just like saying, the beer isnt as good as last year and the bar staff are very slow in serving. When the bar staff are new and so is the beer. How would that be ok.

You may well be right, but there will be contracts to pay up and possible signing on fees and wages to new recruits etc. But, like I say you could well be correct and the club has some money in it's balance sheet.

You've been selective in the use of the word ALL. In my opinion the top 6 clubs have better squads than us.

Having had a season in the Championship should our players be better prepared at this level than the promoted clubs….Yes

Should we be better than the four clubs that finished below us last season….Yes
Why? Have they stood still? Have they just simply laid down and accepted that we should be better?

On Sunday four of Yorks tries were scored by DR players and three of Hunslets.

Are other clubs better organised than Cougars on the field …Yes
We do OK until we start to rotate players. Whether this is down to players or change in tactics I don't know, but it must be addressed.

Is Paul March a good leader on the field….No
He did OK at York and Hunslet, as an outsider it looked like he led them well. If the performance of a coach or player changes then questions need answering - is it him or other circumstances?

If you are going to solve a problem then you need to establish the REAL root cause(s) first.

You could be right but it could also have used it to pay off it's debts (I would assume it still has them).

It would be nice to think we have a cash surplus but I can't think of many loosing RL clubs that have much.

Reading the Keighley News York have a massive injury crisis and only have 18 fit players. at the beginning of the season this game would have been a banker so its over to you PM there is NO excuse not to win this game.

Not sure losing pay is a good strategy for a business. If you dont have a good product your customers go elsewhere!
