Cena vs Punk wasn't the best match these two have had, but I think that was more down to the time constraints of live TV as it was still a decent match up.
Given Punk's promo, it does seem like he's on course to be the latest guy to get job'd out to Taker for his yearly WM match.

Think Punk needed the strap going into this match if we were to believe the streak could end.
The thing with the streak is that everyone knows it won't break but its just a case of who can put a great match on with Taker.
Personally I'm not interested in Mania in the slightest. Rock v Cena, already seen it. HHH v Lesnar, already seen it. Punk v Taker, probably a good match but only ever one winner....... Really disappointed with the line up this year.

If anyone is going to break the streak, then it should be an up and coming guy that WWE can build around for the future.
Punk is such a guy, this is the sort of win that would really elevate his status. Taker is coming to the end of his career, that's been clear for a long time. He can manage one match a year and it is getting a bit silly as it's a foregone conclusion that whoever faces Taker will be the one who gets pinned. The only thing you can hope for is that they can put on a show stealing match a la Shawn Michaels vs Taker I or II.

Completely agree the line up is looking poor so far...I may give it a miss this year...

I'm a part-time fan, I've just been catching up on the last few weeks in the build up to Mania. Surely it's a must see even if it is the worst build up to Mania. I can't believe (well, yes I can) that the Rock isn't on TV at the moment.
Speaking of part-timers...
In this age of part-time WWE upper mid-carders, Taker, HHH, Lesnar, Y2J etc...I wonder if Kurt Angle has taken notice and would be interested in coming back?

I think it's a question of would the WWE take him back. He's a bit of a loose cannon. Sorry, that should read his twitter account gets "hacked" a lot.
Really, if WWE wanted they could decimate TNA as there's not a single person on their roster who wouldn't jump to WWE if they got the offer. The only trouble is, WWE is very careful regarding the "battling of personal demons" these days so although certain guys would love to jump to the big league with all the big contracts and big paydays, a lot of them would likely be getting the 60 day wellness suspensions
