So, in addition to remembering no fewer than 10 combinations of lower/upper case letters and numbers for my various online accounts, today I was asked for the first time to set a security question by my mobile phone provider.
This has never happened to me before, and I wasn't sure what kind of question they were expecting.
I eventually settled on
What is the name of your first born son? A fairly common question, I was assured by the customer service agent.
I started to ask people at work if they had been asked to set this type of question before. Most had, and so I asked them what kind of question they had given. Most related to key dates or names, with the odd mother's maiden name thrown in.
However, two of my colleagues surprised me. One of them had set the following question with their energy supplier,
Who is your favourite serial killer? Answer: Fred West
And another colleague had this beauty,
Why don't you like fish? Answer: Smells
Both security questions are actually pretty insecure, but they made me laugh
Does anyone else have any out of the ordinary security questions? I promise I'm not going to steal your millions!
