One of my favourite stories, and kind of went to disuade the John the Messiah of Principle Lennon myth is the story of Maxwell's Silver Hammer (which I maintain is the worst song ever, worse than Black Eyed Peas, Rebecca Black or anything by Train).
John Lennon refused to have any input into it. Point blank. He hated it. But he still took a writing credit. A writing credit for something that was all Paul McCartney's doing.
Now, I appreciate they shared writing responsbility. But if you are going to storm out of a studio over something, then you don't take the credit (and money) over it.
