The issue being that no-one in government is blaming anyone else other than the specific hospital - so why try and pin blame on a previous or current administration unless you delight in the playground style of politics ?

Because if I had a pound for everytime the Labour socialist clique bleat on about the poor state of the NHS pre 1997 I would be a very rich man.
Now it appears the NHS wasn't all that great when Labour were in office.

But doesn't it make you look a bit daft when no-one else is trying to make political gain from the non-issue - and believe me the politicians would try if they thought it would stick and not bounce back on them.

Interesting ... tell you what, whilst I digest the figures and compare etc, why don't you just ignore that one example, as the point still remains that I reckon Cameron's pay-rises-for compassion-only is a ruse to disguise a cut.

Are you deliberately missing his point? Also, do you really, really think that the Conservatives would fail to pin it on Labour if they could possibly blame them?

I have to prove nothing. Thatcher is at the head of a long list of people whom I blame for the commercialisation of public services, purely to drive up profit opportunities for the private sector, all at the expense of the UK taxpayer. It is a fact that the vast majority on that list are tories, although they do include many New Labour politicians who decided to follow the Thatcher ideology.

Jeremy Hunt is under pressure from the Lib Dems (of all people !) and Labour about the NHS. It's all about Statutory Instrument 257 (Section 75) of the Health & Social Care Act 2012, under which virtually EVERY part of the NHS would be opened up to private providers to bid/cherry-pick/make profit from. This government promised no top-down restructuring of the NHS. Maybe they forgot to mention it would just be privatised.

I can quite easily be more compassionate. I'll practice it tonight in work.
"Excuse me nurse why is my dad blue?" " Well instead of being horrible and forcing him to wear his tight constricting oxygen mask that will save his life. I felt it was more important that I held his hand whilst in an empathic manner I agreed with his need to keep the mask off, in his hypoxic state, as that made him feel better"
Obviously non of this will really happen tonight. As the moment he disagrees with me I'll sedate him
But I dread to think how this would be measured!

For once it looks like persistent questioning by the opposition has got at least some results. I for one do not believe for a minute if it were not for the likes of 38 degrees and Burnham anything would have changed.
