For those that aren't aware, it was demoed by Microsoft at a recent conference. It uses a projection system to extend the viewing area from your TV, to your entire room. The room is scanned by Kinnect and the game projected onto your room. So when playing a game, instead of the screen stopping where your TV does, it would continue. The obvious games to benefit would be FPS titles, you would have a realistic field of vision, able to see enemies off to the side with ease. Another good example would be driving games, where you would be able to see further down the track and have the trackside pass on either side of you as you drove, making it feel much more immersive. Football games like FIFA, you would be able to see the positions of players off screen etc. Quite what you would do in the daytime is another matter, but it certainly looks a very interesting idea.

It looks brilliant. I'm wondering If they will bring it out on this generation with Kinect or leave it to go with the launch of the next gen. It looks very good in theory though. The clip I saw online looked unreal. But whether it actually works that well in reality will be another matter.

That does look pretty smart, although I'm not sure you could realistically gain any competitive advantage in a game by using it. The video I just watched showed it mainly providing additional aesthetics for games rather than expanded fov. The brief fps demo they showed did let you see more of your surroundings, but obviously not in a sharp enough resolution to make much of a difference.
Still, it looked impressive, and if it enhances the experience as a whole then it can only be a good thing for us.

I can't see any reason why it shouldn't. They apparently demoed it at CES this week and it was apparently impressive. They decked a mock up house using beige curtains and heavily furnished with cupboards and plants etc and it still worked well.

It's possible it will come out on this generation I think, the demos are clearly using a 360. A lot of the work Microsoft have been doing with Kinnect, Xbox Live, media streaming and TV network integration, Smartglass etc has been brought out on 360, but you can tell it's just a test bed and to familiarise people with them before it's all featured on the next Xbox. It would depend when the new Xbox is out, if it's this year as has been rumoured, I can't see them getting this out in time. If it's next year, it's possible.

Be a bit pointless really with the new consoles supposedly being shown at E3 and coming out for Christmas this year.

Wouldn't be surprised to see 2 versions of the new Xbox - one with Windows RT like the surface and one with a full version of Windows 8 like a PC/Laptop and the upcoming Surface Pro.

I've got Assassin's Creed 3 on the go, as well playing through Fallout 3 again. It's by far my favourite game of all time.

Speaking of which, are we expecting Fallout 4 or whatever the next in series may be called?

Never played the Fallout games, what am I missing?
Are they slow paced ie alot of walking about talking to people etc? I know Far Cry 3 (which I love) isn't exactly BO2 pace but it's hardly a slow game although there is alot of walking to be done.

Fallout 4 is rumoured to be coming out. Fallout 3's brilliant, it can be slow paced if you decide to explore every little part of the game, but if you crack on the main storyline and side quests that come with it, it moves along quite quickly. Also, some of the choices you make during the game affect your karma which determine whether or not certain quests are unlocked, so the storyline isn't set in stone.

Love the Fallout series. New Vegas is good too.

Pretty much the same game engine as Skyrim so if you like that you will like Fallout too.

Only thing i've heard regarding Fallout 4 is a quote from somebody involved with the series, stating that 'the Mojave was an interesting place to visit, wasn't it'?. Maybe 4 will be set in Vegas area too
