What about Cruz as he's your most targeted WR isn't he ?

Correct, but when Nicks doesn't play he is far less effective. Double teamed allday.

This is not down to the option. Wilson sure ran a lot last Sunday, as will Kapernick. RGII injuries this year have come in the pocket or on plays which were not designed runs. His designed runs have all been spectacularly successful and injury free. He re-injured his hurt knee Sunday on his second TD pass, a conventional throw from the pocket. The original injury (the Ngata hit) was simply a freak occurrence as RGIII was diving to avoid contact. People are over reacting massively. Tom Brady once missed an entire season due to an injury sustained in the pocket. Peyton's neck injuries were sustained in the pocket. Should QBs not throw from the pocket as well?

Anyway, got three out of four on my picks last weekend and this weekend I'll go for

Denver, New England, Atlanta and Green Bay to win.

The guys blown his right knee out twice in 3 years running the option. If you choose, like most Skins fans, to ignore the additional hits etc. garnered from using an offence where the QB is a runner then fair enough. I've discussed this ad nauseum on other sites and can't really be arsed to get into it again here.

Ravens @ Broncos- Blowout alert

Packers @ 9ers - More out of hope than expectation.

Seahawks @ Falcons - Fancy Matty Ice to be Matty poop again. Seahawks bang in form while Atlanta's starters limped home when getting beat by the Bucs.

Texans @ Patriots - Another potential blowout. Had Andy Dalton not been terrible last week then the Bengals would be here.

I can see why you can't be arsed discussing it because you choose to ignore the fact that the inury was caused on a drop pback pass from the pocket and not an option play. This fact doesn't suit what you have to say about the subject so you can't be arsed.

Fair enough.

Quote:Every player in our squad could probably earn more money with another club. But they prefer to sacrifice a few extra quid in their back pocket to share special memories. And playing at a place like Old Trafford on a night like this makes it all worthwhile.

Video sharing site: Baylor Football: Rehab for RG3

Video sharing site: Robert Griffin III RG3 Knee Destroyed by Haloti Ngata

1st video is the first knee blowout. On an option play.

2nd video is the beginning of his current injury. Again a QB run. Which was then aggravated early in the Seahawks game. Then of course the ACL went on that sandbox of a pitch.

You want to ignore that continual hits etc. throughout the season will weaken the knee then fair enough.

I know I said I wasn't getting into it again but I'm not getting talked down to by some fan boy. Done with it now.

I'm with Ndamukong on the option/run - sure it is exciting and can be very effective but it places your most important possession at undue risk of being hit (usually low) by huge defensive players. It's just too risky for me and definitely contributed to RG3's injury. I don't think that style of play is a something that will work long term in the NFL. RG3 however will be an exceptional player as, unlike most other option style QB's, he has the ability to be an extremely proficient pocket passer too.

Exactly. Thanks for taking the time to actually think it through. Once RG3 becomes a runner he's open to any type of hit. These aren't college players doing the hits. They are big hairy arsed pro's and will leave a mark.

Anyway, onwards. Hopefully he makes a full recovery and doesn't lose the athletic ability that makes him so special.

Looking forward to tonights games. Struggling to see past a Denver blowout in the first game. I love that Denver D and they of course have one of the greatest at QB. The Ravens D isn't what it was and I can't see Flacco pulling them through on the road. Ray Rice needs a huge day for the Ravens to win.

So long as Green Bays D stays disciplined I fancy them to beat the 9ers. If they don't it'll get ugly fast. Don't really buy into Kaepernick after he looked pretty ordinary against us twice.

Exactly....and that is the difference between being hit in the pocket and hit on the run. Anything goes. If you're going to do that then you need to slide/get OOB as soon as pressure is on you - which obviously diminishes the benefit of the system.

Rodgers IIRC leads the league in QB rushing since he started (obviously he's had more seasons that Cam, RG3 etc), however he runs almost exclusively to extend the opportunity to pass the ball downfield (leads to some sacks) and doesn't get hit that often (Detroit in our SB year was the last big hit he took)....RG3 could/should develop into a similar style to Rodgers.

I'm concerned by their physicality because that just isn't our style. We can't let them bully us early on otherwise it will be difficult for us to come back. Stick to our style and we have a great shot.
