Got approached by ky to change from virgin. The savings were around £30 a month to have everything through them. Signed up and within a month they out up their prices so the deal they offered me was now not what I was been charged. All they said when I called was 'it's in the terms n conditions'

Now I'm sure it is but how can they offer something only to go back on it straight after.

Whilst I'm still saving I am not happy. If I wanted to cancel would I have to pay up 12 months?

Don't take c**p from them. Be tough with them.

Call them and say you're going to cancel, for the reasons you've outlined; they'll put you through to the 'cancellations team' - this team has authority to incentivise you to stay; they'll definitely offer you some freebies if you tough it out. I got a free 1tb Sky+ box and a multi-room subscription - result!

Speaking of Sky, is it true that to receive a 3d channel you have to subscribe to ALL the Sky packages. I have just bought a 3d telly and someone sprung this on me today :shock:

<scratch that - I thought you said 3rd telly, not 3d!>

There are such things as unfair contracts and perhaps more pertinently (possible) misrepresentation. IFmisrepresentations were made to the OP when he was sold the package (and in my experieience of certain industries, of which this would be one, that is highly likely) then the OP perhaps could argue that those oral representations were instrumental in his signing the agreement and he relied on them as being a true representation of the contractual terms.

Sadly, True.
As I understand it, the reason being is that they only have the one 3D channel, so if they say show some sports event in 3D, then that is normally followed by a 3D movie, and they struggle to differentiate as to who has subscribed to what service, Sports or Movies, so only currently availabe to those who have both.
I have been informed that they are planning a 2nd 3D channel, one to be dedicated to Sports, the other one to Movies. So then, us sporty types will have access. I'm not sure of the time frame, though. :?

Similar here. :D
Had a moan, threatened to quit, and received an extra multiroom free, together with free HD.

I doubt a clause allowing a company to increase their prices will be seen as an unfair contract when the maximum length of that contract is one year.
