Well last year's coach of the year disagrees with you, as a desire to run such an offense was on of the reasons behind the switch to Kaepernick. The owners of those teams clamoring for Chip Kelly disagree with you.

Also, the style of offence we've been running has helped us to have the league's best rushing attack, 4th best points scoring offence and the 5th best offence in terms of yards. It's worked very well in the pros.

Besides, I'm not concerned as RGIII is perfectly capable of running a conservative traditional style offense if needs be.

Anyway, here's hoping the finale of the Wildcard weekend is a more entertaining game than has been served up so far.

This is like watching Hull v Huddersfield a week before the big boys step in. I like the pistol offence, like most things in the NFL though it will only be effective for so long, coaches are so good nowadays. Like G1 said though, he could easily run a traditional offence.

Oh, and Joe Flacco is terrible.

3 for 3 on my predictions so far, barring a miracle here.

Looking forward to the next game. Definitely the pick of the bunch.

Embarrassing flop from Griffin. The hit was late but not enough to force him to the floor that hard.

That's good at the moment but I wonder how long it will last once a QB or two gets properly clattered. In college you only have the players for a couple of years and they're playing against young men. Playing in the NFL is against the best of the best and everybody is huge so I would question how sustainable that style is in the NFL. In college the investment in a QB isn't the same as it is in financially in the NFL. The new QBs are brave no doubt but everytime I see one not slide into a tackle I cringe at one of them getting layed flat out for the sake of that extra yard. That's part of the magic sure but when you've put $10m into your QB that's risky behaviour.

If I'm Dan Snyder I'm having a serious discussion with Shanahan about how he used RG3 yesterday. The guy is clearly injured and a) you continue to run option/run plays b) keep him in the game after he gets re-injured.

Nail...on...head.

I think RG3's stubborness may well have cost his team the game, they have a more than capable back-up in Kirk Cousins.

I don't blame RG3 as much as Shanahan but I see your point. It's difficult because you know he'd get some abuse if he took himself out of the game.

Just completely baffling considering RG3 is more than capable of running a conventional offence too. It was clear after the INT in the 2nd quarter that it was also having an impact on his passing ability so I'd have pulled him then if not earlier.

The seeming difference between the views of the doctor and Shanny is also worrying - possible the league get involved?

Yes, I could have understood them delaying a decision until half time but he shouldn't have played in the 2nd half.

Excellent performance by the Seahawks after the ist quarter.

I'll get my picks in early.

Hou @ NE - close early but Brady to pull away in the 2nd half. Pats by around 10.

Bal @ Den - I expect Denver to be able to keep them at arms length all game (10 or so clear) on the back of some good defence.

GB @ 49ers - We played terrible in the first game and lost by 8 I think. We finally have all our recievers back and our defensive guys too and now have something that resembles a run game. One concern is protecting Rodgers. Give Barclay and Newhouse help and Rodgers can beat the LB's & DB's. I think we can hold up ok against Kap. Packers by 7.

Sea @ Atl - Seattle by 10. Seattle D should have success against Ryan. I can't see Atlanta successfully stopping Lynch which sets up PA and Wilson to use his athleticism.
