From my own experience of playing v Irlam, yes they are a big set and maybe poop house a little more than average, but in the maybe 4 games we played over the last 2 years, i dont think there was a single sin bin or red card, and without a doubt i am sure Irlam will agree Irlam v SV was defo not for the faint hearted!!... think it all about giving as good as you get, with your, body, mouth and ball....In no way am i condoning kicking, elbows etc etc, but with a side like Irlam (and other big aggresive sides heysham etc etc) you have got to step upto the plate early doors and show your not their to be knocked about.

Happy new year h&h!
Are you playing in the Golborne - Irlam return on Saturday? Hoping to get down and watch, that's if my usual dose of Xmas flu shifts, it's in its 7th day now so fingers crossed.

Is the NWRL site not being updated?
Anyway, Irlam 20-12 Blackbrook. Messy game, neither side at their best. As usual Irlam the bigger side, but played a bit too much one-up rugby against Blackbrook's smaller team who showed good hands and good lines to go round Irlam's unsteady defence several times. When Irlam moved the ball they made plenty of holes but struggled to retain the ball. Everyone seemed a little rusty after the Xmas break!
Lots of dropped ball and turnovers, very scrappy but a win's a win and always good to watch a game of RL.
How did Golborne go hare&hounds? Blooded your bouncers yet?
