You are doing one of two things. Either:

1) You are using the most over-used, morally bankrupt get out clause ('he moves in mysterious ways') to excuse your 'God' torturing an innocent woman (and her husband) for seven years before killing her, or,

2) You are a troll who is using the suffering of another human being to maintain the illusion of his persona.

Either way, you're a scumbag.

kirkstaller wrote:In Christian theology none of us are innocent, hence why we all die.

Ah, so, it was her own fault for being a 'sinner'?

Of course we all die, but your 'God' could choose to let us die peacefully in our old age having lived a full and happy life. Instead, he chooses to torture some of us for many years with the incurable diseases he invented, before letting them die prematurely and in pain. If such a 'God' exists, he's a b*stard, and so is anyone who excuses his evil acts.

kirkstaller wrote:That doesn't make Sanjunien's story any less tragic though, and I continue to pray for him.

Wow. How big of you. Bet he's thrilled. Though I reckon if 'God' was going to step in and help him, now would be a bit late in the game.

Christianity: because you're so awful you made God kill himself.

I gave a honest answer. It is not a get out clause, it is the truth. I said it was part of God's plan because that is what the Bible teaches.

I do not know why some people suffer more than others. I tried to be respectful because I know what it is like to lose someone so close.

I'm not here to cause controversy or upset.

For sensitively giving an honest response to a genuine question?

Quote:Ah, so, it was her own fault for being a 'sinner'?

We all have to take responsibility for our sin. That is part of the judgement God has made on mankind. We know that death only entered the world when mankind decided to rebel and break God's commandments.

Now, I'm not saying that it was the lady's fault that she suffered so greatly, and I cannot tell you why supposedly good people are allowed to suffer more than evil people. I don't have all the answers but I trust that God knows best and has infinitely good reasons for working as he does.

We all deserve to die due to our rebellion. And actually, God is extremely patient with those whom he has predestined for Hell,

In the same way, even though God has the right to show his anger and his power, he is very patient with those on whom his anger falls, who are destined for destruction. He does this to make the riches of his glory shine even brighter on those to whom he shows mercy, who were prepared in advance for glory. Romans 9:22-23 (NLT)

I'm doing this not to promote my own righteousness (I am a dastardly sinner), I am doing it out of love for my neighbour. IIRC Sanjunien has previously referred to his own lapsed Christian faith and I pray that he returns to Jesus.

If you're not a troll, you're guilty of a disgusting level of moral cowardice. You excuse actions that you would, without hesitation, describe as 'evil' if they were perpetrated by a man, solely because your 'God' is the evildoer.

kirkstaller wrote:We all have to take responsibility for our sin. That is part of the judgement God has made on mankind. We know that death only entered the world when mankind decided to rebel and break God's commandments.

No. No we do not. Death had been around for several hundreds of millions of years before the earliest man had evolved.

kirkstaller wrote:Now, I'm not saying that it was the lady's fault that she suffered so greatly, and I cannot tell you why supposedly good people are allowed to suffer more than evil people. Again, moral cowardice.

"I can't tell you why 'God' causes good people to suffer, but you must accept that he knows best and love him anyway. Or go to hell."

kirkstaller wrote:We all deserve to die due to our rebellion. And actually, God is extremely patient with those whom he has predestined for Hell,

It can hardly be deemed to be patience if they have been 'predestined' for hell, can it?

kirkstaller wrote:I'm doing this not to promote my own righteousness (I am a dastardly sinner), I am doing it out of love for my neighbour. IIRC Sanjunien has previously referred to his own lapsed Christian faith and I pray that he returns to Jesus.

He won't. Once you've seen that the emperor is naked, it's impossible to ever picture him with clothes on again.

Christianity: because you're so awful you made God kill himself.

After readin part of this thread i could not face reading anymore i often think that as a race we have not really moved on from the times of the Romans.

I get the feeling a lot of posters would be quite happy to go to the colosseum to see Christians fed to to the Lions again.

He's real I think.

It wasn't too long ago a Christian was preaching very similar views on the local radio and I'm sure it was Kirkstaller.

No, we'd just rather not have all that claptrap forced down our throats and have the holy inflict their beliefs on others by way of laws and hijacking of ancient rites and customs.
