And on a related topic I had to smile last night when I read that Danny Boyle was rumoured to recently have turned down a knighthood because it would destroy his self image of being "normal" and his commonality (if there is such a word) - good for him, if placed in the same position then I'd like to think I'd do the same, its one reason why I don't want Kevin Sinfield to accept any award that a fawning RFL may wish to eventually nominate him for - would destroy his self image straight off
Give it to Frankie Boyle instead

Do you mean his image? How would you know what his self-image would be? Just curious.

He's stated on several occasions and interviews, most notably to Clair Balding before the CC Final, that his background is in socialist politics and his hero is Che Guevara - everyone thought he was joking at first, but he wasn't.
I don't think Che would accept a knighthood

I don't think that the RFL would be in a position to offer one of those though. What they would offer he would probably accept. I hope you won't be disappointed.

He never said the RFL would offer him an honour, they could nominate him though

Some would argue Feudalism never really went away.
