Just had my first online game tonight. Won but absolutely rubbish with tactical defending it it can't be changed in seasons which is frustrating. not a clue

into third season it happened pal. its not just me its a general error from ea. they are looking into it and making a patch apparantly. thousands of people are complaining about it

i pick up the mike

and then groove
without nothing to prove

what new thing to be seen
we'll take you on up

you'll feel good
we'll help you unwind
when you feel vibes
it makes me feel right

Is rugby league live getting a uk release then? That image seems to suggest so.
I might pick it up if I can get it for £30 or so, but certainly not if I have to import.

Does anyone know of any decent controllers for the Xbox? I like the MS ones, they are a great design, but I just don't like the buttons, the way they are like sponge rather than clicky. I got the Razer Onza a year ago and whilst a far superior controller, they don't last any longer than 6 months and are of shocking build quality.

I've seen the Scuf controllers, which are modded versions of MS controllers. They look awesome but seem focused on FPS gamers, which I'm not.

I'm looking for a bit of advice. My 9 year old has got £200 burning a hole in his pocket at the moment and he wants an Xbox. We already have a PS3 in the house and that's downstairs connected to the main TV for Bluerays and gaming. He wants an Xbox in his room. He assures me he doesn't want Xbox Live, although I think he will within a week or so.

I just need some advice on what to get if we allow a second console into the house. Is a 4GB one enough for saving games? Should we perhaps look at a pre-owned one for Game/Gamestation etc? is the red ring issue inevitable?

Any help is appreciated.

The red ring issue is gone with the recent consoles, it was only really the initial models that suffered from it on a wide scale. The newer ones don't break any more often than any other electronic device. 4GB is enough for saving games, but I agree with you, that once he's got an Xbox, he'll want Xbox Live. There is so much content on there that 4GB isn't really going to be enough. Xbox Live is great, full of free demos, downloadable games, videos etc and if you've got Sky he'd be able to watch it through his Xbox if he had Live. Xbox Live also has a lot of outstanding games.

There are some decent bundles about at the moment. Game are doing:

250GB (Black) with Forza, Skyrim, Borderlands 2, FIFA13, 480 MS points and 1 months free Xbox Live for £220

250GB (Black) with Forza, Skyim, FIFA13, 1280 MS points and 1 months free Xbox Live for £200

250GB (Black) with Lego Harry Potter and Rayman Origins for £200

You can of course save some money by going second hand. Just go with the mantra that the more recent the console variant it is, the less likely it is to break.

What are MS points?

Microsoft points are like a currency for buying online content. You pay for your live subscription and a lot of it is free, but if you want to for instance download an arcade game or watch a movie on zune or something you need to pay for it with ms points. it costs about 7 quid for 800 points for instance.

preowned in the likes of cash convertors for an older style console with 120gb hard drive they are about £100 quid without any games. Can get a bundle on ebay for around 80ish. CEX are asking for 130 quid for a used elite with hard drive so don't go near them, I'd say the bundle deals that saddened has pointed out for a brand new console with all the games etc are pretty good value.

You can have the back 2 buttons assigned to whatever you want so you could have them set to say through ball and shoot for FIFA and the LT/RT can be customised so they have more/less travel time. The feel of them is just better too, the material they cover them in makes them more comfortable to hold.

Have you got one? If so, how long have you had it and what does the build quality seem like? And what are the buttons like? Are they responsive clicky buttons or the same as the original MS controllers?

Not got one but I've used one a few times for COD, it works well for that. The build quality seems top notch and the covering they put on them makes the far more comfortable to hold (as they should be for the price!) there's some good reviews of them online which will probably give you a better grasp of what they're like, but from experience I prefer them to the normal 360 controllers and will be looking to get a PS3 one.

The paddles are quite tactile on the back as for the normal buttons, can't say I've noticed too much because I've never had a problem with the normal buttons before so sorry I can't give you a better answer there, although to save some money you can send in a controller you currently have and they will turn it into a scuf for you which is pretty good but probably wouldn't be too much help to you because of the buttons.
