depends how loyal players are to one or other club but also...who is the 'primary club' in terms of their registration. I thought you could only play for your secondary club when your primary club didn't need you so if you've a team of secondary registartions in summer, you're a bit buggered now that winter has begun; if they are all primary registrations then you are going to be OK.

Thatto Heath and Eccles are supposed to be entering teams. Just what the league wants more clubs that forfeit half their games and thrash everyone the other half.

From what i know, the thatto heath team will be more of a new team rather than a team made up of thier 1st and 2nd team.

its all stemed from a chairty game i was involved in a few weeks ago between the 06 leavers of two st helens schools which was held at thatto heath. i would think the main core of players would come from that rather than the current summer teams.

Just like the summer switch the 'new' winter set-up will need time to develop. The summer switch has allowed lower league team(s) to develop with an influx of winter players who'd normally play at a higher level. It'll be interesting to see how things go for the remainder of their season now the winter league players have started to go back. I expect the consistency in games going ahead in the winter leagues to rise in a few weeks time.
In terms of blow out scores one week and then not turning a team out the next this is no different to the 1st few years of the summer leagues when some teams benefitted from higher league winter players playing against lower league players, those new to the game and ru converts. Funny how things have gone full circle.

Yeah true. The likes of Liverpool Buccaneers crumbled to dust when most clubs moved to summer. Though a genuine Liverpool City in the Emerging clubs league have arisen.

Hopefully it will settle but I think the RFL have a lot to answer for with the dual registration rule. It seems to wreck summer and winter

The dual registrations are an issue and the only sensible way forward is to have equal parity between both clubs and the player free to choose who he turns out for. The club are then free to choose if they want to enter into a dual registration for a player at all. Works for everyone then.

A player could owe fines and subs to a club then as it stands duel register then going from what your saying then just decide to turn out for the new club and avoid paying his commitments at his first club.

True, but the club then reports the owing fines to the league and that player is 'blacklisted' from playing for the other club. If the players name appears on a team sheet the 2nd club gets fined. It won't stop him playing under another name but that's been going on forever & will do, impossible to police that one. As I say ultimately the club has the choice to enter into the dual registration & the choice to let the player play for them while the money is unpaid.
