I love Dark Souls, it's one of the best games of this gen imo. I played it to death on the ps3 and now I'm working through it again on the pc. It's a very unforgiving game, but that's half of the enjoyment. Dark Souls is a game for those people who are sick of being spoon fed and carried through the casual games that are flooding the market these days.
The combat will take some getting used to, but it is anything but broken. It works perfectly once you know how to approach a fight. Don't just go in there swinging, watch your opponent's attack patterns, use your rolls to avoid attacks and just pick them off slowly.
Once you get the hang of it you will be hooked. It is a tough game, but the feeling of finally beating a tough boss or opening up a new area is totally worth the effort.

Been watching plenty of clips on YouTube of Black Ops 2. After ages of saying I wasn't going to purchase it, but after watching multiple clips of the multiplayer. All I can say is it looks, brilliant. Arguably the most exciting change they've brought to the multiplayer is the 'ten point system'. Instead of allowing you to place two attachments to your weapon and choose 1 perk from three classes. You can now decide wether you want 1,2 or 3 attachments for your weapon and 3 perks etc. You could possibly decide to go with no weapon attachments and 6 perks and an extra lethal grenade. There's so many options you can now choose from for your class. Also a wildcard which costs you 1 point to basically buy and then will cost you another point to buy from that selection. ie if you have a perk from class 1,2 and 3 but you would also like another perk from class 2 for example you get the option for have that 4th perk. Therefor 4 perks all together.
Hopefully I've explained that well enough, if not and you actually care. Look on YouTube, type in black ops 2 multiplayer perks. I'm sure you'll find it easy enough.

Now THIS is why i decided to give it a go. Unfortunately there's a difference between a challenge and bleeding ridiculous. Seriously, i'd have ended up spending my entire week off work on one or two areas of 1 game... not for me thanks. Worse part is that i got 4 achievements from it, now the whole world can see i wussed out Following on from the 'challenging' point, i finally completed a Halo game on legendary, Halo reach, and it only took just over a day. I don't know whether to make this my 'proudest achievement' on XBOX360achievements site or leave it as 'Mile High Club' from COD4

Did you complete it on legendary on your own? Very impressive if you did.

Thinking of going retro and getting myself a SNES on the cheap!! Looking to get Mario World, Mario Kart and Street Fighter with it if possible, but struggling to remember what other games were out for it...

Aye i did. There was only maybe 2 or 3 parts where i got stuck for more than 30 minutes on one checkpoint surprisingly. It's not THAT much harder than Heroic, if you stick your head out on heroic OR legendary you're pretty much dead anyway, especially if there's a bunch of Elites around. So on both difficulties it's a case of picking the tougher enemies off one at a time.
I remember getting to the final boss on Halo 2 on legendary but never finishing it. Did about 10 minutes of Halo 3 on legendary and gave up.
